I found 3 for £17, they are all the large size but the build quality isn't great. First cast and the thing fell apart, the hinged section came apart but did clip back together again, wouldn't trust it to not completely break and stoped using it in the end.

Yeah I realise that now, mine came from someone in this country, didn't realise they was the cheap Chinese copies at the time. Thought it was ok if they was any good but they definitely not as good as the proper spomb ones.

I've ordered a few now from the same supplier on Wish. I've noticed thst the design and quality of the Spomb copies vary, even in the same colour. The best ones come with sealed in hinge/spring mech, a tough stainless clip and half decent roller type swivel. The others just have a bit of bent soft wire, nasty cheap swivel and the hinge mechanism is able to slide out. Easy enough to rectify, but I think this might explain the varied reliability experiences.

The ones I got were the midi sized. I wasn't impressed with them tbh, they need a bit of work before I'd use them.

I had to replace the stem and swivel on mine, I spliced 4” of 40lb leadcore onto mine.

They don't open well at all buddy. Not looked close enough to figure out why but defo fixable. Probs by sanding as you had suggested.
