U are on a losing wicket mate IMO.
There are a lot of supporters for CL and RT boats have used them for some years without issues and like anything there is the odd fault here and there but overall rare.
The x boat has been out ten minutes in comparison and whilst you are pleased with it clearly you haven't actually used an RT4 to personally compare the two. The fact that so few x boats are on the banks and also nil feedback therefore doesn't help you either.

You haven't answered my question. Why is the rt4 a better boat.
As I pointed out in the beginning one of the reasons I picked it was because of the quality of the build. I can actually see what is in the boat. Can you say the same of the rt4. I can carry out repairs and upgrades myself. Which is something I wanted to do as I only opted for the auto pilot to be fitted. Due to being given the heads up on a new toslon fish finder being released in the next few months.
Where do you get your information that it is very rare for the rt to have a fault. Turn around would suggest other wise.
If I used a rt4 how would it be any different to a x boat, wave runner or any other bait boat. Put bait, rig in send out drop come back. All do the same. Surely it is the reliability that is the main thing and if something does go wrong how quick it can be rectified.

I addressed that in post 19, yes you can split the hull if you wanted to see what was in the boat.

We are all idiots clearly!!!! And you clearly haven't read any of the replies as you keep asking the same questions which have been answered and your only benefit of the X boat is the fact u think it's easy to fix it....so that makes the Anatec boats just as good.
So where is this superb build quality X boat made.....I would hazard a guess it isn't in Germany France or the U.K.

The x boat has been out since 2015, if it was a serious contender to knock CL off the top spot I'm pretty sure it would have been all over the mags by now.
and Tony, a review would have been nice instead of a load of posts saying its better because I can see inside it

I have an RT4 and i must admit mine had an issue at first which was quickly resolved. I think that the fact that the amount of boats that CL sell would lead to a certain percentage having problems. Selling lots of boats will lead to more people complaining and highlighting problems. Small sellers will consequently have less problems highlighted. I did consider the X Boat when deciding to get a new boat but as has been said the website was very sketchy at the time although it may have improved now. I had a Waverunner previously and didn't have any problems with it but am very happy with the RT4.

Hi Jon. Post 4 was all I needed to say but your not allowed your own opinion. Carp lounge has done a fantastic job of advertising and pushing their boat. For some reason Toslon hasn't. Maybe they are just happy to have their products go in other boats and let their own boat slowly gain popularity.

To be fair the main Toslon site doesn't give much detail either.

I very rarely post anything like this but. Everyone has their opinion and some are more forceful than others that doesn't mean your opinion is any less valuable to others reading it and vice versa, we are all adults and can make our minds up.

What we can say is that you can get to the internals on both boats.
So it depends how you judge better boat and unfortunately they can only be compared on paper, not in real life, as in the real world there simpy isn't enough info on the xboat. Origionally carplounge offered the 640 on the rt4 as it was a handy tool being a combined fishfinder gps unit .The fishfinder wasnt as good as the lowrance they were offering nor is the gps as good as their own stand alone gps.It offered a good compromise all in one .Toslon are new to baitboats and buying one at the moment is buying one blind and a risk. As we know most baitboats out there are not that good many are crap i know because i have owned most of them.Like richie i liked my waverunner and that was the best of all those i have owned mainly because of battery life.As for all boats doing the same ie take your bait out drop it and come back yes they do and i would have said that before owning a rt4.The best thing about it is how quick you can drop your rig out and get back.Much less faffing about trying to keep it straight in wind etc you hardly need to touch the remote .Plus you can do other things whilst boat is moving even set your rod and indicator up whilst its coming back .In the middle of the night when all you want to do is get rod out and back in bivvy its much quicker and less effort its a joy to use..Every other boat i have used you have to concentrate and faff about when fishing big distances or in winds.And the power of it you can keep a tight to the boat saving big bows of line which is a mare with long runs in winds this has been a godsend on my local res.Quite often even in a crosswind its still only a occasional flick to get it back 100%straight.I took advice from a couple of lads on here and took the plunge 3or4 years ago they were wrong its better than they claimed

Will have to see if this is the case. Motors in the toslon apear to be their own. Battery life is excellent probably down to the relatively slow speed. I have always used the autopilot to return the boat even if I have not used it to send the boat out. I'm using it for pike fishing at the moment and it has been out in some rough conditions with no problems.

So are you saying that the rt4 can be opened up to check for a loose connection or a plug that has come loose even if it is under warranty. I was lead to believe you couldn't as this would void the warranty. Also splitting the boat then re sealing isn't a simple two minute job. The xboat you can see everything when you remove the battery covers.

Just to add my own experience of buying, CL advised against the 640 due to it's poorer performance in shallower water unless I really wanted a 'cheaper' option in which case it was fine, like you say as a compromise, as compared the units you quoted
