I think a lot of good has come from Korda. They have made other tackle companies up their game in many ways. I can not think of one product which has not been bettered by another company. During the 2000's they were bringing out revolutionary stuff, a lot of it being first editions which inevitably had their flaws and were then "copied" and improved upon by others. For that, I am thankful I no longer have cut offs and bent hooks!
On the media side of things, once again, people took a concept and expanded on it. If it wasn't for the underwater videos and "masterclass" videos, we may not see the quality content we have now.
Korda has always been a product based company. Every free DVD or publication has been with the aim of selling a product. Other companies have adopted the "heritage" way of looking at things. E.S.P and Sticky being two of them. Their videos are very well recieved and watched, and don't have the sheer amount of mundane rig tutorials and product placements seen.
I saw one the other day of a bloke in France, just caught his PB, and his first thing to do was to thank X bait company and Y hook (mass produced in China and sold on eBay). Urgh.
As for Nash, they are like Marmite to me. I enjoy the Eurobanx and Urban Banx productions, however I have no interest in spending anymore money on Hooliguns, BP5's and 4 Play Pods...

Can't say I have watched the newer stuff. The older stuff was all promotion and there's only so much I can take of that and certain presenters. I find them awfully painful. Knob head would be the word I'm looking for
As for products. They make decent gear. As for development the skyliner spod was something else for sure at the time. I'm struggling to think of much more. Everything's a copy cat isn't it. To be fair, i don't care. Very rare I use their gear these days

Always said it about DF that he has done more for fishing than all the other companies put together.
Loads of Korda bashers out there and it's all because of jealousy, he has made millions and has the perfect job in the carp fishing industry that most would only dream of having.
The only one that goes through me on the Korda videos is Ali, not going to knock the man as I have never met him but he just annoys me

I have absolute respect for Danny Fairbrass getting his backside out and about into tackle shops selling his leads himself, that takes a lot of time, travel and effort.
However, I am not keen on some of the tackle that they have come up with, that personally I think, please note that, I think, has not been designed with carp safety in mind. I also find it annoying that should I buy a Korda Lead clip I should have to buy a Korda swivel to fit it. Size 8 swivels may be size 8 but they are NOT all the same size!
I also got put off by advertorial, a cheap article that was more advert than anything, but other manufacturers have done the same since, as they need to compete.
Yes, Ali Hamidi winds me up, from The Big Fish Off to some of the Monster Carp episodes, I just wish he would keep his mouth shut, and I read an article he wrote on Gigantica that annoyed me, something to do with extending a session and ignoring a family members birthday. If I did that to my parents I would be looking out for a horses head in my bed...
As I said earlier in the thread, Embryo are protecting our fishing, which obviously we need to do. Buying or renting fisheries, then putting stock in is important, and something we as anglers need.
My other comment though still stands, we need mixed fisheries, not just carp, and we need younger anglers, children to be fishing.
Sadly local clubs are losing waters, some are going commercial day ticket, others are going syndicate.
It is these local clubs that could do with support from us as anglers.
