They can scream that they are being bullied now as much as they want

Is that what they are saying lol

They stand on a soap box trying to sell the latest thing (£) which is stupidly dangerous and because people disagree with them they are being bullied ffs, classic

Maybe we are all green eyed monsters too

After looking at Andy's photo on here yesterday, curiosity got the better and I had to go have a look. I'd seen a couple of comments previous, only because faceache friends had commented on things.

First two posts I saw, were referencing being bullied, or bullies never win, something like that in the hash-tags.

I only saw it properly yesterday. As explained before, I am lost to the outside world these days because of work. I don't consume any of this type of media at all. I warned on here a month or two ago, about carpers being very careful consuming certain types of media. The underwater cameras would appear to be the new selling tool.

You were bang right Dave. You hit the nail on the head completely.

Yesterday I went to have a look after all I wrote. Loads of photos of customers now online with the product. There is no going back for them it seems. There is a ****ing spring in it, not elastic. A ****ing metal spring. It just gets worse and worse. Everything I wrote yesterday about the lug strength next to the contraptions body, and what will happen on the bite, as a fish charges off through weed.... Well this photo right here shows that very clearly. Any weed is going to gather and bunch at the bottom of that lug as a fish rips off. Forget the bendy end bit, that is just to set the trap. All pressure will be on the bottom of the fin, at the strongest point. I cannot comprehend how stupid this all is.

He can chat about his friends at the Angling Trust all he wants as you or someone else mentioned previously... RDAA were among the first big fishing clubs to ban it, and they are intrinsically linked with the AT as far as I know! Fairplay to Kevin Nash for banning it from his lakes too. That's a statement.

Well done this really needs focusing on. You're right about the arms, it's the join that will catch on landing net mesh, weed etc. at this point it will be unbreakable. We all know that weed is like a snowball. A tiny bit becomes a small bit which becomes a medium bit which becomes a weedbed.

I'm livid. Not going to let this drop. Any body who endorses, uses or sells this is adding a nail into fishings coffin.

Just seen on facebook (the algorithm doing it's job) some lake owner in France (crystal waters) tested it by casting it through some weed a couple of times and declaring it safe and good to go. Biggest fish in the lake is 83lb

No mention of crack offs, or landing fish and getting tangled in the net (which is still my biggest concern)

They could take it off the market today . It won't change the fact there are thousands out there now . All ready to potentially damage the carps mouths. You can ban it from any fisheries but they will still be used by the same people who break rules.
This product is a sad day for real angling. Will he care no its just the fame he wants .

It wouldn't surprise me if one or two companies aren't developing/looking at a similar sort of thing, time will tell.
What shocks me is there are people who think it's acceptable.people will buy it though.
This is why I hate the modern just add water carp scene.

Those arms wont break easy...there's literally NO weak point in the "armpit".

The more i see this, the more i think how ridiculous i think this product is

for me this breaks down to two parts,

1) Does the angling Community need such a device, a self hooking device (but doesn't self hook as the fish needs to be hooked to activate the device) The Anti's will be all over this.

2) the safety aspect of this of which there are many.

Starting from the actual set up of the device on a lead clip, if you're wanting to drop the lead, the cushioning of the spring will negate the ability for the carp to shake the lead off the lead clip. likewise in the event of a crack off or being snapped not only will the carp not be able to get rid of the lead by shaking its head, the lead isn't going to pull off the clip as the twig will be taking all the pressure whilst going through the weed, debris and snags

Once hooked and the fish bolts, this is one of ali's usp's of the twig,no finicky takes just one toners,if the fish bolts through weed and them arms are open they'll stop a carp pretty dam quick as the twig gathers weed.

Any crack offs or line parting, even if the lead has come off, them arms sticking out are going to gather weed, debris and caught in snags.

Once netted, the arms are likely to catch in the net, ali recommends unhooking all fish in the net but the target audience for thus device is likely to never have done that and also its not always possible even for experience anglers or terrain of the banks etc.

Aswell as all the above I question the actual working of the device, if your fishing with pop up,ronnie, shr, multi rig the fish is in no way in direct contact with the device as it tilts down and feeds on the pop up, the fish will have to be hooked and moving off to actually activate the device, infact I question that for this device to go off at all the fish has to be hooked from the off to create the pressure to activate the device.

If someone came to any tackle manufacturer and said ive got this device, but it comes with all the above problems.....how many of the manufacturers would say we love it,let's press on and release it

I've decided I won't be buying any OMC products. I dont like the morals of the company. So why pay there wages . Its a shame we can't do the same with the water companies.

If you are applying that logic, someone making a bit of fishing tackle and the water companies are the least of the moral problem....

Clearly it's going to get caught in the net and cause serious mouth damage. But the very moment I looked at Andy's photo of the carp being landed, with the plastic prongs sticking right out and facing the fish.... I could see in an instant what is going to happen on the bite in a weedy pit! There will be no mouth damage in the net.... Because that thing is going to rip their mouth off as they charge through a weedbed on the bite (standard procedure). That will unhook them, but ripping the hook out! Get a bite.... Screaming run, get to the rod as it stops... Wind in a pair of carps lips.

Armpit is the perfect description Joss. The contraption has to land the fish, line does not run through it like a lead clip. So the contraption HAS to be strong obviously.

That photo exposing the spring, you can clearly see the strength of the armpit of those fins. They are fused into the body of the contraption itself. The force a big carp can exert when it goes charging off is immense. That's why when they are tethered, they will just rip their own face off.

On weedy pits... That thing is going to destroy the fishes mouths so rapidly. It's going to rip the hook out before the angler even makes it to the rod. I think they have really ****ed up big time personally. Weedless, soulless holes in the ground. That's the market. **** the rest of carp fishing. **** the consequences. A loaded metal spring, similar to what a gun has. That's how the anti's will see this. It's so wrong on two completely different levels for carp fishing.

I am likely not going to comment on this anymore, it's such a wind up. I will say something really bad.
