It's true though. You cannot dismiss all the bad things people do just because they do some good. It's like praising Shell or BP for planting a few trees. Consumerism and capitalism are the absolute death of this sport.

Embryo does a great job of providing fencing at cost for clubs, but also they've taken over leases that clubs held and now run them as day ticket or syndi venues resulting in the loss of an accessible and open water. They've opened up a lot of waters that had no fishing previously which is great though. Probably about levels out in the end. Although you can't replace accessible and cheap club waters with pay as you fish waters.
I thought the business model was the income from day tickets, syndi and exclusive waters offset the labour costs on the fencing side of things as well as the upkeep of the waters too.

I actually pity anyone that sees no problem with it,they mustn't understand rig safety one bit any fisherythat allows it deserve to lose fish being snagged or tethered...unfortunately cash is king and most of them allowing this device either sell it in their shop or allow hamidi to film on their waters giving them free publicity

Excellent picture and exactly why I ordered a packet of twigs to test out for myself, (non fishing situation) to see how it actually works. My concern was indeed this, could a fish hook itself on the twig and also eject the lead.....I couldn't see how it was physically possible and this appears to bac the theaory up...

I think it was designed as an automatic / self hooking rig, and they were informed of the byelaws stating these things are not allowed, they have then significantly upped the strength of pull prequired to activate the spring effect - which effectively renders it pretty useless.
What happens next is you will have people modifying the spring / elastic bungee inside to make the trigger release under a lot less pressure.
