I think the reason why people “hate” him is simple. He and his former chums have Konditioned a generation and brought carp fishing from a peaceful pastime where people had respect for each other and just went about their business to a circus full of gob *****s, liars, bull****ters and people that “need” to be famous
As for the product, any company that launched that deserves everything it gets, never mind Ali bonga, fish safety really is number 1 if people really give a ****, that is horrendously poor. If anything we should be trying to minimise end tackle to virtually nothing ffs

What if a fish tries to go through branches and it's 2 branches close together and the line has gone through won't the legs on sides stop it going through further into a snag so surely will damage the fish.
And also if it wasn't Omc bringing it out I could see a lesser named company bringing it out say a NGT or similar

Your pretty much spot on their Chris, what I hear off actual real Anglers all the time - is that they think a certain few companies have just used Carp fishing as their “Cash Cow” with a total disregard for the consequences of their actions, the only goal has been profit, profit, profit!
This “thing” proves this observation beyond all doubt.

I don't know how anyone can claim this is safe after seeing pics like this, i have never liked ali since his days on redesmere but this is taking things to another level and promoting and putting this on the market he is going to be responsible for badly harming and possibly killing fish

How can you say that about the likes of Korda,they are doing more than most other companies with the Embryo waters.I know Korda are responsible for the TV shows and bringing carping to the masses which has seen a huge influx of idiots but at least they're putting something back

That photograph certainly had that effect on me. How can anybody even start to imagine that thing is safe when a carp rips off on the bite, with those arms splayed out is so beyond me.
Any **** who says them arms will fold back or break.... Put some braid down the side of that fin to the very bottom, and then wrap it around your finger.... Give it a good pull and see what happens. The plastic fin will flex at the top, but ANYTHING that travels to the bottom of the fin against the contraption body will meet a real force.... Nothing like the bendy tip section of the fin.
Your fingers gone if you try it, and you do not need to be a genius to understand that. Think of how the arm on a lead clip works. The bottom of the lug is solid. The lead has to travel to the bendy bit to disengage. When a carp tears off, the lugs on those contraption fins are facing the fish. Anything it goes charging through, strands of weed will bunch down at the strongest lug point of the fin and cause some crazy pressure on the hook link.
Words fail me.
They need to do some serious, serious backtracking real fast, and get them fins off that thing.

From what I hear, I assume – with most of these Embryo waters being Club waters that are run on a none-profit basis.
I presume Embryo comes in fits a Otter Fence, bill the Club, the water is then run as a day ticket/book on water until the funds are accumulated to pay off the Otter fence, then the water reverts back to a “None-profit making club water” Correct Tony?

I believe Embryo take over the lease and it's run as a syndicate,they will not step on anybodies toes to get a water.I think a club or lake owner has to approach them to take it on,I know they have day ticket waters too,im not 100% sure on the club then taking the water back on though Keith

You have pretty much confirmed that the water is then run on a profit basis, probably based on the formula of number of swims per acres = x amount of profit per 24hours, dare I say it "Now a nice little Cash Cow"
