It's only a matter of time before Korda buy Delkim

Did korda buy trakker?

Trakker are part of the Cipher Group, inc other fishing brands, can't see them selling to a competitor but could be wrong
EDIT, think what you may about DF but he's leaving the fishing game Carp wise in a much better state than it was and the futures looking very bright for future generations both here and abroad. Would it be so bad for him to buy Delkim...I'm erring to quite liking the idea, if it's being touted.

No good turning up for a session not knowing if an alarms going to work or not just wished i'd known there were user groups before forking out.
Lesson learnt, keep it simple.

Has DF and others like him really improved carp fishing?
I preferred it when there was less gear about to buy, and you had to use your noddle a bit more rather than buying a load of prepacked stuff you don't really need, the sort of stuff that attracts people into angling meaning less room on the bank.

This could be a topic in it's own right. I have no real opinion on Korda products, I use some of the stuff but being a older angler I'm not a fanboy who insists on K, but on the legacy he's leaving, I certainly do, and I'm not sure what argument there can be against it.

Yes, I'll come back to that

I couldn't agree more.
Embryo, surely no one can argue with what he's doing? Buying/long leasing waters here and abroad , a lot of them where the previous owners/clubs couldn't afford/didn't want to Otter fence them, sorting that and then leaving it in trust for future generations...you'd have to be nuts not to like that.
Do I hope angling becomes less busy as a past time, yes.
Do I like the state of it now, no.
Would I ever fish those sorts of places, probably not,
but that doesn't stop me from appreciating what he's doing for others, the places he's protecting for angling and I'm not naive enough to think he's not doing it for himself.
He's built a successful business and so far no signs of selling out, I fail to see why I could or would want to criticise the man.

I'm gonna defend Danny here a bit. I think he's done quite a bit for carp fishing and also to raise the game as far as product quality is concerned.
Twenty five, thirty years ago most of the tackle we bought fell apart quickly, whether you love or loath them right from the off the Korda products were always robust and other manufacturers had to up their game. In the 90s the Nash gear was horrendous, and he was getting away with it. But couldn't when he had to compete with better quality.
I also think that the free dvds that Korda did in the 2000s, yes they were infomercials, but they also introduced a lot of new anglers in to things like fish safety, proper handling etc.
The podcasts, especially the early ones were great entertainment and a lot of them were with non fashionable older guys, about under the radar waters, introducing a lot of newer anglers to the importance of the history of carp fishing and who and what evolved it into what we have today.
He's spent sizeable chunks of money on securing waters via embryo and also fencing waters for clubs that couldn't afford it. I think he said in a recent interview that will be left in trust so it can continue.
He's donated all the profit from the Korda Sun protection clothing to cancer charities.
Lastly I do think that he does actually want to help people catch more fish, and yes that means he sells more products, but they also invest considerable time and money into things like the junior carp academies and also they donate a ton of gear to clubs for charity raffles for good causes.

TBH when it's all laid out in black and white the bloke has done an amazing job, has made a good living out of producing good quality gear, not too out there or pony stuff (think Nash Runway etc) and has shown a commitment to the future of carp fishing and future anglers.
However, and it's not all down to him solely, and his predecessors are as much to blame, he doesn't sit too easy with me as my quiet hobby, where you learnt and gained knowledge, thought and made bits of tackle, fished uncrowded venues have all gone under this all consuming, relentless multi million pound ‘sport' which is videoed, blogged, vlogged, flogged to death resulting in the present circus.
So although he seems a nice bloke, savvy and successful, plus is fighting his own health battles whereI wish him all the heartfelt best, I just wish I could turn the clock backwards a bit. Not rose tinted glasses, not Canute trying to turn back the sea, but just sad that the more gentle, more genuine period has gone, and his part played in it.
I've no doubt I'll get a bit of a rough time after this post, but also a lot will identify what I've written and they are probably the silent ( if not majority then the dwindling) element who won't make a fuss.
Sorry to go off the original topic but the thread was going this way already.

I'm not just picking on him, it's why I said DF and others.
I understand what you and Vossy are saying but still think the circus has got too large.
Edit
I think I'm more in tune with post 42

I think every sport amd pass time has gone the same way, look at cricket, a test match would trundle along for 5 days at 2 or 3 runs an over and finish in a draw after 5 days, these days test matches are going 5 or 6 an over and over 3 days with a result, shots being invented, better bats being used, law changes to but a few...I think everything has changed not just in sport but life in general, we're an instant information population where we want things faster, faster results, better technology, new technology and if danny Fairbrass, kevin nash etc hadn't have taken the tackle amd equipment to where it is now and where it will go in the future then somebody else would have.... for the ones who were lucky enough to have seen the times before the korda revolution they have a comparison but there's alot more fishing now I would guess than know no different other then how fishingbwas with korda etc
For us to have fished and seen both sides of the coin I count us the lucky ones, we know how it was before the banks were rammed week in week out, 52 weeks a year, but we're also lucky enough to now use some decent rods, reels and gear etc...are things better now then they were before?? only you can decide that....

All very good points put with clarity of view 👍
There's nothing I could really disagree with.
What I would say is that the more modern and to use your term ‘ post Korda era' anglers would probably be more vociferous in its defence and condemning, using the technology/future/ change is inevitable defence.
Pre Korda ( and Nash//Fox et al) anglers would be much more sanguine and just smile.
