You can only catch by doing this. When it's the only method being used

You should have been in that swim last Friday, the "big one" was caught in it. Thinking to myself, I was in this swim last Friday and nothing happened then, or the day before or the day after and I'm still here on the Sunday.
I always move into your swim four days after you have left when the fish move in over all your bait you put in and pull them out. Thinking to myself, No you don't, I leave on a Sunday morning and return on the Wednesday morning 3 days later for my next session till Sunday morning in the same swim and I never even see you on the lake and I rarely put much bait out and usually just fish small stick mix's.

I think most 'theory' that has been taught in the last 20 years has been nonsense. Especially when it comes to what a carp can see and feel. The industry has consistently contradicted itself by bringing out camo leads, whilst at the same time encouraging people to use bright colours. Why bring out a camo hook and preach one thing, then bring out a coloured 'kicker' to use less than an inch away, then with bait, they tell people to 'match the hatch' one minute, then the next tell them to stick a 12mm 'topper' to get them to notice the hookbait?
As written above, there is no rule book. Get them feeding hard enough in the right place and everything else is negligible.

Scale down in winter use smaller hooks and Fluro so they can't see the end tackle and then saying use bright colored pop ups because the carp eyesight isn't as good in the winter because their metabolism slows down. Which one is it?
