If OMC, or any company for that matter, release a gadget that 'recoils' to set the hook I predict that just about every decent fishery in the land will ban them straight away.
Thanks to Dave (Baitman on here) many, many fishery owners are in daily contact nowadays and I can guarantee that such a product would be discussed.
To be clear things like Nash Triggalink and Steve Renyards rig just add in elasticity, they don't snatch back to set the hook.

Possibly could not be spring loaded but on a lever system instead... looking at the picture from that youtube video it appears the lead sits above actual plastic clip system.
Will be interesting to see it once unveiled, will be surprising if its revolutionary but you never know.

I've never really known where to post this - however here seems pretty good.
I don't think that alcohol and drug abuse has made this up so desperately hoping someone can remember the description below.
I reckon 20-30 years ago. There was a tiny sinking spod that held about 4 baits, one being your hook bait, unsure how it was ‘set' (maybe PVA) but you cast it out and then the 3 or four baits sprung out and in the process the hooklink straightened. Please can someone tell me what it was? In my head I played with this ‘bullet' type thing in a shop. Apologies if I have made this up...

Nope you never made it up either that or we've both had the same drink and drug induced thoughts
I had a couple It was a small black boilie rocket that was lead weighted at the nose and the swivel in the lead came through the rocket end of the rubber mould it was used as a free running weight on the line that dispensed bait near your hooklink, it took four boilies loaded against the tension of a spring they were held in place by two pegs that slotted in the fins and PVA was then wrapped around the pegs and pushed into the moulding of the fins to hold in place once cast into the pond PVA would melt and fire the boilies out the back, I seem to remember it was a Gardner tackle product, Korum copied it later as like a boilie dropper/feeder except now it's used independently for just baiting.

That's the kiddy, thank you I seem to remember a guy telling me he put his hook bait in as well and cast onto island and tease back into water so pva makes sense!

You absolutely haven't made this up as i was one of the early testers, it was carptech innovations that made it. It was essentially a mini spring loaded spod which enabled you to add a few freebies then your hookbait on top, pva tape was wrapped around a couple of pegs moulded into the fins to secure it in flight, then underwater the whole lot jettisoned and you had a baited area at ranges unobtainable for most at the time.

If you are really old , like me , you may know a gadget simular to this idear was about , and apparently hooked everything from a stickleback to a carp and all in-between . I'm sure it was in Kevin Maddox era , and did not last long for that reason . Was it around in the early days at waveny valley , scratching my head .
Got to agree , think lake owners might frown upon it , as if something went wrong a live rig left in the lake that strikes itself would not be great .
