With regards to OMC, yeah Hamidi has gone for the locust approach and swarmed the market knowing full well that some items will in time become staples for people, i.e. the putty.
With Nash in uncertain times, I think OMC definitely will become a major player, Trakker stuff is awful rebranded Cygnet crap (other than the adjustable float), Fox just change the colour of their end tackle every year and seem short of innovation. Gardner and ESP if comparable to confectionary market are like Ferrero and Kinder whereas Korda and the like, are Cadburys.
What I will say is that them reels he's bringing out, look to be similar to shimano in design and the mainline did look good, now whether that's down to the line lay of the reels im not sure.
Got to take your hat off to the guy really, he's bulldozed his company into a saturated market and that's massive financial suicide should it fail

about 25 years ago while on holiday in the USA
I bought a Berkley spooling station and it came with a handy line stripper too I also bought a little clip on line counter then when the line counter packed up I replaced it with
the ROLLS ROYCE of line counters the brilliant Rapala RCD digital line counter love this it counts in feet though
but you set it say 500ft and when it reaches 500 it bleeps and also more importantly it keep perfect tension on the line too
when I used to Carp fish REAL LOT using 3 or 4 rods at a time I used to get thru a lot of line and changing line was never a problem and so easy it was money well spent IMHO
point of interest the plastic spool holder tensioning springy things wore out on the berkley spooling station so I contacted berkley and they sent me 2 sets FOC

I actually dont see the probelm with this, other than the price point being a bit high. But ill just show my mrs, and when she sees that she wont have to hold the spool on a screwdriver, tensioned with some old socks, she will no doubt buy it for me, so value for money for her.
People are always moaning about the lack of new products, yet waiting to junp on them and hammer them when they launch
It solves a problem. And when youre not spooling up your reels, its a collapsible water bucket.

for years it was a pencil or something poncing around
but for twenty odd quid you get a handy folding bucket that dont take up any space and solves the problem of respooling easily on your own
and if you think its too expensive dont buy it simples ?

Didn't Ace do a drill attachment for stripping line? I thought that was a brilliant invention that makes life a lot easier.
