Is Horseshoe not this kind of set up? Pay the Carp Society an annual membership then pay your day ticket to fish the water?
By all accounts it's still a fine place to fish, one of the few day tickets I could actually consider.

Horseshoe is a hybrid as you can pay day ticket rate (charged by the hour still rather than 24 hour blocks) if you have a membership, or you can pay the full whack and join the syndicate. The perks of the syndicate ticket is that you can come and go as you require as have a gate key/code but if you are on a day ticket you have to arrive during office hours.

As much as I like the look of it Ashmead is that type of setup. You have to be a member of the Carp Society, then each day/weekend/week is individually priced.
I have looked at the map and website of the lake, and the Tim Paisley chapters on it in More From the Bivvy, and until today (20/03), was always thinking it was a large lake, but it is only 17acres, which to me personally is quite small.
Still a lovely looking lake though, with some amazing fish, but no way could I justify the price.

The lake is smaller than that mate, 17 acres is the size of the wetland. When you take into account all the islands, nooks and crannies etc the actual lake is prob nearer 12 acres. However, in many swims you are completely hidden away from others and if you are on there with sensible like-minded anglers (which was always the case when Skeff had it) then you would only see each other on a walk around, and even then you would have to go out of your way to see people in some swims (well areas as no actual swims as such). It really is a unique venue and if you haven't been it is worth a visit (ps got 1 trip booked this year to see what changes the CS have made so my comments are based on what it was like pre and immediately post sale)

Pay close to £900 for access to 2 waters. One has fish to high 30's one high 40's... safe and secure so I gladly pay that , out most weekends be it 24 hrs or just a Saturday so I personally feel it's good value ....
I wouldn't entertain a busy day ticket hole in the ground anyway , rather chase chub or tench😂
Have a butchers at some golf club prices and you'll soon change your mind
