I'm also of the 'wasted space' opinion as well.

I've been playing with trying to reduce things behind the bedchair, saving that space for things I rarely need or use, which is things in the rucksack once I've got the scales, gas stove and cup out of it.

With the porch extension on my brolly system, I can actually get the bedchair from spokes to door with no problem and have everything on the side of the bivvy, and a gap down the middle.

I agree, I really like it. Just need a bit more height and like the look of the new flat back style.

I did see the new Solar Uni thing at the show, comes out next month. That looked pretty good!

Unhooking may under the bed and bait bucket by your head. I don't want no unhooking mat in my bivvy 😂 and bait bucket can go down the foot end

Doesn't get used often so it's can stay there until needed. With a lid on a bucket you can't smell nothing so makes zero difference and doubles up as a table. Less kit and all has its place. Like I said never needed any space behind the bed even on 3 or 4 day sessions
