Have used DNA SLK, it was slightly softer than S7, couldn't say whether it compares to Trent Baits but it worked well for me.

RG Baits do a very good shelf-life range.

If you're catching and it's not impacting you financially stick with it. Trent baits is very gd. DNA I would say are gd but coat for the masses. As mentioned any decent bait (which most are these days) will catch you fish, location is key. SLK looks like a great bait, have tempted trying it in the past, it is very NOT in your face like a lot of baits but a gd food source. What I would say/recommend is mix your baits, there are so many advantages to doing this, fish will prefer certain attractors, if you mix what your putting in there not only will it confuse the fish as to which is your hookbait, but will also draw different fish in. If your fishing 2 rods over a baited spot, mix your baits and use different matching hookbaits, see which ones takes first. You build confidence.

Agree with this totally.
when I lived over in Nottingham I went over to pick my baits up direct from Trent baits and the guys showed me around the industrial set up at the time, were really open and honest about their work and were generally just no bull, nice guys and produced really good bait at a decent price.
If I was ever getting back into carp fishing id happily use their bait again with confidence.

I personally wouldn't fix what isn't broken. If I didn't roll my own I'd still use Trents shrimp. Fantastic bait!
Thanks all for the thoughts. Will consider whether to stick with the shrimp but sounds like DNA is well regarded too so will go to that if I move away from the freezer/Trent don't produce a shelf-life.

So get this, I'm a huge fan of DNA. It's my go-to bait. Last weekend I had one of the best sessions in a long time all on DNA SLK and Bug. However, at times I was using SLK & But wafters but also utilising my Trent View wafters that I'd picked up at Old Mill earlier in year, and at the weekend had a PB on the yellow dumbbell squid wafter with SLK and Bug freebies

Trent, have confirmed today that the stabilised range will be available at the end of the week 👍🏻

Yep I've just seen the post - good timing as I pretty much exhausted the last of my freezer baits last week.

Be interested to hear what users of the shrimp think of the stabalised version in time.

I'm going to order some as soon as it's available and will report back. My one curiosity is what shelf life it will have, I know some stabilised baits are given a fairly short expiry (3-6 months) rather than the traditional shelfie which seem to last almost indefinitely.
