It deffinetly can be done. I'm not suggesting they check every product line but the more expensive items such as beds, chairs, bivvies etc.
Obviously you would expect that returns against sales would dictate whether they do this however my guess is their margins are big enough to soak up any losses made by returns and so they just continue to operate as they do without giving much of a toss about the customer.
Any change in the way they operate to counteract this would involve in increased costs, possibly over and above what they lose in returns and so they choose not to do so.
This is only my view of what could be the situation but I obviously don't work at Trakker so it's just an assumption.

Until these companies get tough with their O.E.M. and insist on strict Q.C before the items leave the factory then things won't change. It would put the price up as it would no doubt slow production. Any costs involved would be passed on to the company and hence on to the customer I.e us.

I agree completely that it won't change but that's not to say that it shouldnt or couldn't.

It does slow down production,I would prefer to wait that bit longer though.I don't mind the wait if the end product is of decent quality to reflect the cost.Aqua are still having bivvies uk qc'd

They are having parts of that done in the UK apparently.All the heatseals are being done over here and stitching checked and material for defects

I bet theyd all start qc ing stuff if we stopped buying it. Whilst people (im as guilty as everyone else) are paying over the odds for stuff that may or may not be built properly, and just taking the chance, why would they stop, and as said below, increase their costs

I bought the brand new 100 recently and my only gripe is the bag. It could be abit more spacious and have two way zips instead to make packing up easier!
