Perhaps he didn't even want to use a boat. Perhaps this decision was made at a project meeting with TA HQ that they want him to use a boat in his segment of the volume.

I don't think this 20 minute (or however long) video should be used as a reflection of the lads angling ability!

The problem is, I agree with you to an extent, I can't see the need for a boat on that venue.

However, he has booked the venue exclusively and feels its give him an advantage. Its not upset anybody else and he has had a chance to look at the make up of the venue.

As long as no ones elses fishing is effected does it really matter?

No they dont, it's against the rules except to release tethered fish. I've fished it twice, the bailiff reminds you of this fact when you first meet.
