Mate had a hook pull at the net once the 3oz lead and size 4 hook came flying in my direction as I turned to avoid the hook went into my ear and the baited rig plus lead just hung there, looked like a Pat Butcher earring . We painfully removed it when the laughing stopped.

Bungee cord flying off and hitting me between the eyes. Claret everywhere and a permanent scar. Wouldn't recommend it.

Many years ago I had been pestered by tufties diving on my baits day and night and I got no peace or rest for about 3 days and I was at my wits end as I could not get rid of them as they would just come back.

Out of frustration and desperation I thought I would give them something to think about and loaded up my large particle catapult up with a large rock big enough to have sunk the Bismarck and capable of reducing a flock of tufties to a bunch of feathers floating on the lake if I hit them, the rest would not stop flying in panic for hours.

What a shock I got when I let fly with maximum power and found the rock had lodged in the pouch and swung round and smacked me in the thigh. My leg just gave way and I collapsed on the bank in agony thinking I had smashed my femur I was in that much pain.

Eventually the pain went away and I could stand up again and to this day never tried it again with such a large rock.

Or the hook up your "Snot box" which is why for years now I have always used ratchet straps. You can only have so many lucky escapes before you get seriously injured by bungee straps.

I slipped and fell whilst carrying some gear and my chair broke my fall... and my rib. I fished on but it became too painful however, by then, I couldn't carry my stuff out of the swim.

I was once fishing for pike with herrings which are soft and easily cast off. Having baited the lake I decided to throw the next bait out. Rod on rests, bail arm open, bait in hand and Heave! There was a pause and I saw the herring land where I wanted it but, the bail arm had snapped shut and the two trebles were firmly embedded in my hand with two of the points broken off and in deep.

It was February and very cold so extracting them wasn't too bad as I had little feeling. But, on the drive home and as the feeling came back....

I've had loads of hooks in me including one that was removed in hospital, fallen a few times and received bruising and once tore a hamstring, but it's all part of the game.

I was fishing Clatworthy reservoir for trout many years back. A guy there caught himself in the white of the eye with his fly. He was taken to hospital, had it removed and returned to continue fishing. Hats off to him

Giving a new fox catapult the biggun, next thing im being dragged out the water by two anglers.
Elastic snapped and hit me square in the jacobs.

Reached into a rucksack for something and tacklebox had a hooklink hanging out of it, lifted the tacklebox out via a size 6 attached to my finger.

The usual pull for a break, had i been ron jeremy id be unemployed now, hit inner thigh and went purple for weeks.

Put kettle on stood up and did my knee ligaments, member on here packed all my gear away
For me, love to meet up again, was on whitevane must be 12/13 years ago, scouse bloke.

Yeah I have thrown the bungees away and have ordered ratchet straps. 3mm up and would have no sight in my right eye that's too close for comfort

Making a brew one day when I knocked the stove with my foot and instantly felt this searing pain. As soon as it happened I knew what it was without looking. I was wearing a pair of crocs whilst in the swim and had scolded my ankle when the boiling water tipped over.

I took of my sock and a large amount of skin came off with it. I was in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday afternoon. I used the clean cold water I had to try and bathe it using bog roll. In the end I bound it up with wet bog roll and managed to get my high leg boot on to keep everything in place. I eventually got everything packed away into the boat and luckily was able to beach the boat next to the car. Once everything was in the car I had to drag the boat up the bank to the nearest tree to chain it up. As I pulled on the rope with feet braced I could feel the skin splitting on my ankle. Not nice.

I had no idea where the nearest A&E was so drove the 2 1/2 hours home. It was my left foot so using the clutch was a nightmare.

Once back it took a month to heal after a hospital visit and a district nurse ( didn't know they still existed) coming round daily to change the dressings and put on some wierd and wonderful cream.

Most painful cuppa I've ever had!!!

You might get a VC for that Neil

Horrendous that, I've had a few slips with a stove, kettle and pans, I guess when it happens and the reality hits home the damage can be quite concerning, camping in the middle of nowhere and all

My old man always reckoned I was a bit ocd when making brews etc but working in kitchens for 10 years taught me to always plan for the worst 😂😂 unfortunately it didn't teach me how not to get a bungee in the eye. Worst thing you coulda done was take the sock off without bathing it in cold water. We had a chef knock a pan of salted water(blanching veg always done in salted water) off the 6 burner all over his legs two of us had to restrain him while the kp filled up a 10 litre bucket with cold water as he was trying to take his trousers off never do that

Pushing a bankstick in with a plastic Fox buzzbar attached, either side of the bankstick the buzz bar broke and as it did my weight leaning over carried me forward, the broken plastic on the left hand side cut in at my wrist up to the inner side of my elbow taking it down to the white lumpy flesh and I nearly knocked myself out as I hit the sleeper at the front of the swim with my head, not to desperate but smarted at the time.
