I have fished Home Fen a few times and really enjoyed it, they were 5 night sessions with mates and we had a good social and caught a few along the way.
It really grinds my gears that people wouldn't even consider wetting a line there but would happily jump on the ferry and fish the same venues for the same type of fish over in France.....Home Fen isn't pretending to be anything more than it is, it's not an historic UK venue with Leney strain fish, it's a commercial venue, nothing more, nothing less but because it is this side of the channel it is all kinds of wrong.....
Treat it for what it is, a UK based commercial fishery that can be booked for a holiday week with mates......just like France.....
...if people want to fish it anymore than that by booking odd nights that become available or taking out a winter syndicate ticket then so what, that's called personal choice.

cant see this being sorted for ages yet mate...I can go out to France pretty much when I like, but no way I can be out of my business for 3 weeks at a time, add to that I think euro travel will be stopped very soon

That's my take on it now mate - 10 years ago i would be gobbing off and be part of the wrong un gang. To be honest, i cant be arsed with anymore. Carp angling is a circus and full of clowns looking for some fantasy ego elevation and a bag of free bait, no point in getting excited about it anymore.
I think the GE video finished it off for me and emphasized how far detached i am from modern carp angling.

Very similar here now too. I've done a complete 180 over the years.
Its fishing, as long as people enjoy it and it isnt endangering anyone/ any venues etc then go for it. Lifes too short.
