Did they disappear not long after they showed the NGT stove was better than the Quad Connect stove for boiling times and Gas usage?
Is anyone REALLY surprised this is happening? MANY people realised years ago that everything is the same. Re-branded with a different badge. There is next to zero innovation compared to the mid to late 2000's, and what with Youtube and social media, why pay a fiver for shiny paper when you have forums with better bait heads than any 20 year old in a tracksuit?
Total Carp is all about sales. It is a magazine of salesman selling. Everything is under a guise. I did this, I caught that, I used XYZ, which is available in all good tackle shops (only for the boat from China to run into some issues). It's bought by those who change bait six times a year and have about 30 different variations of the KD/QD/MD/ADHD rigs on a rig board they purchased on the basis XYZ said it was the next best thing....only for it to end up on Facebay a few weeks later.
Carpology on the other hand, tried to bring in a comedic aspect and be more about the "social" and later on, focus heavily on the "experience" rather than focus heavily on gear. I think it works, hence why they have lasted so long. They got the balance right. They focus a lot more now on a Carpworld and Big Carp style of writing, but as shown on here, some just don't have the attention span or feel the necessity to spend an hour reading an article about a lake they will never fish. They don't appreciate the style of writing or let themselves get immersed in the atmosphere created by the writing.
Look, if you want to read about XYZ "smashing the granny" out of Brasenose 1 because you need an alternative to your "game changer" hookbaits, fair enough. You keep the industry ticking over buying the next greatest thing, because the Big Carp readers with their Indestructable Cotswold Luggage who roll their own HNV for 3 quid a kilo aren't exactly pumping money into it are they? They don't need to. They found what works twenty years ago and stick by it.

Fair comments however I Don't agree about your comments about carpology fella. I love reading a big intellectual article there have been very few in the the latest carpology editions.

When it first came on the scene it was free and came in A5 format / side of a carryall pocket size and at the time I thought it was brilliant. Used have very good story's in it. Cockle who used to post on here had his Wraysbury exploits in it, very enjoyable read, bit of mystery, lot of good proper story's at the time and less hype.
I guess now it's a sign of the time. I lost my interest in mags due to the masses of adverts and some of the sickly bull****. Carpworld was the last I picked up now and again.
We are entering a different era. Cyber world, brag book, you tube it's all out there if you like that kind of stuff. Makes my **** itch personally. I have seen a bit of decent stuff but when somebody starts giving it the big “I am” it's switched off. More and more morons come into the sport every year for me and their representation of carpfishing is far different to my passion. Some of them, other than a slice of trying to be famous, I can't honestly see why they are in it. Each to their own I suppose

Some of the content is interesting as mentioned Simon Scott, Penning but there's only so many faux “reviews” and adverts I can take especially at £5 plus. It's a shame as I still think there's a market for a top quality magazine on the lines of Carpworld, Big Carp, Carp Fisher and the Carp Catcher maybe quarterly with a Carp Talk type section for notable captures. Subsurface and likes proved it's possible. Producing such a title as a collectible “coffee table book “ on quality print could command a higher price with more story and experience based articles rather than bait and tackle plugs and yet another article on how xyz ties a solid bag rig!!!!🙄

10000% agree - rumour has it Gaz is working on a a forgotten chapters II, what a blast the original was - particularly enjoyed the Dark Park chapter from James Turner & the sheepwalk fish.

Carpworld started of as a quarterly publication if I remember correctly?
I didn't think that there was enough quality material for even that to be monthly.
