Hmm I'm not sure I believe that, assembled to order perhaps but not made from scratch... The material or any components could be seconds/rejects. I doubt cyprinus just order off alibaba but I guess we will never know for sure...

Cyprinus won't be buying from Alibaba, they will be dealing direct with a factory more than likely a similar factory to one that is putting them on alibaba. There will be loads of manufacturers stealing designs and ideas where they can and all building to some form of spec, but will have slight differences between factories

so you are a Chinese factory owner and one of the big names says I want 10,000 of these bivvys the factory owner sorts all the machines and jigs sources the materials sets everything up then makes and delivers the order
what do they do when the orders from the company dry up ?
well my guess is they then make a load more after all they have now covered the cost of the machines and jigs hence they rebadge them maybe a slight alteration and sell them to who ever wants them as they can now sell them cheaper

This is pretty common, especially for highly sought after electrical items.
In the markets across China you can pick up brand new iPhones for example, without the badge, for a lot less than you'll pick up from Apple. They are exactly the same, just missing the Apple logo & ID. Same can be said for other electrical items (e.g. headphones, speakers etc.), once the original order is complete, the factories will continue to churn out products for secondary resale.
I have no doubt the same is happening across the spectrum

There are Chinese directors at Cyprynus so i'd imagine they have all the box's ticked when it comes with dealing with the factories out in China.

Anyone got any updated reviews or feedback? Looking at the MHR version on the typhoon but just looking for general feedback. My main concern is the block and the front poles slipping. Thanks.

MH has thumb screw locking poles, I have original typhoon and got sent a set for free on request, customer service is fantastic I have had no issues with original typhoon and now the poles are anti twist as well. Buy with confidence!

I've been using mine since March and I cannot fault it. I've never had the storm poles slip at all. I love the zip in heavy duty ground sheet it's not that fiddly and it keeps out all the bugs and droughts out. The material is very good nice and thick keeps the bivvy nice and cool. It's very stable too I'm currently sat in it now and the winds are around d 45mph at the moment and its coping fine there rising to 54mph later tonight I'm not worried about it as I've been out with it in similar winds before. I think for the money it's a great bivvy and build quality is no worse than my tempest bivvy and brolly.

T1 is £100 more and smaller - from what I can see. My back is ****ed so looking for something taller and can't justify spending £700 on tempest 150 👍

Yep, I do. I've had first hand experience of this brand.
Firstly, customer service is outstanding. Quick, responsive and takes action on sending replacements quickly.
In terms of product quality; the Typhoon MH DPM is poorly made. The stitching is shoddy, the overall feel is not worth the price tag of £550 for the bivvy and then £110 for it the skull cap. The velcro straps on the skull cap is like something you'd find from Poundland when you've bought from John Lewis expecting that quality. The 20,000 HH material on the bivvy had 3 holes in my first bivvy. Sent it back. The replacement had 1 hole in it. Light coming through when inside it. The storm poles loose their tension after a couple of minutes which made them completely pointless. Just for show in the end. The groundsheet is laughable. Heavy duty

They provide a small piece of fleece like material for the boss which again, seems like it was found around the back of the bins at Poundland, thrown on and stuffed inside the bag that has a Trakker logo. Although do not be mistaken by thinking this is a case of, “ ...but it comes from the same factory as Aqua and Trakker, therefore muuuuuust be great quality....”. Nope!
Why was I attracted to the Typhoon? A few reasons; the height of 152cm, the HH at 20,000, the ease of setting it up, zip in groundsheet, 4 vents and the internal space. Not to mention I thought the price was reasonable based on it being a good quality product.
I sacked it off. Got a refund and now plunging my money into a Frontier XD. Hoping that Fox will pull it out the bag. I mean, it's taken them 5 years to rip off everyone else so you'd think it'll be bang on.
