so if we cant go fishing due to the restrictions for 4 months you just wasted a 1/3 of your money ????

I still maintain lake owners should have a responsibility to check licences and issue minimum 8 day licences on the spot.

No,Where I live I see a lot of environmental agency staff doing good things so I don't mind paying my bit.I don't mind losing £15.Plus it's forgotten about till next year.

mine expired march i am glad i cancelled the direct debit

renewed mine in February, syndie subs was due and cant rejoin without proof of a licence..now the syndies shut

Mine was set to run out on March 31st so (as usual) I renewed it the start of March. (I used to do it by Direct Debit).

So I have a current license and will lose a few months - it wont break the bank.

The clubs I am a member of were all renewed before the lock down. The clubs still need the funds though.

My syndicate will run this year 12 months from when we start up again apparently.

Its a pain - we are all put out but we are alive.

Paid all three syndicates and one club before the lockdown £800 for the year also renewed my license not worth worrying about, it is what it is.

im not worried about it, my main syndie would of shut on may 1st anyway till 15th June,the other ticket was an open all year water but at £150 a year there is no complaint from me.seems to be a few members though getting the ump and constantly phoning the secretary asking if they can fish..

I'm not renewing my EA until I can actually go.

River Syndicate I'm in got paid 1st Jan, but that's no issue as the lock down almost lined up with the closed season anyway, just hope we can get fishing again around the 16th June


On our own waters I've just rolled the renewal forward until we can start actually fishing again.

The club water I'm a member of has done just the same .


It all just means next year renewal dates will be later in the year, and same for years to come.

Same as you, paid for syndicate beginning of March and rod licence April, both 12 months from payment, lake lease still needs paying so can't see any problems

So wrong. What's next, garages checking if you have a driving licence? The money goes to.the EA, their responsibility to enforce.

Renewed rod licence two weeks before we went into lockdown, yes could have said wait until we can use it again but its always been a march thing for me to sort my new rod licence out and how much other stuff do we buy that is wasting £15

renewed mine as usual end of March - The EA are still doing the work that our licences contribute to so I'm happy enough to pay it.

I'm also in support of venues making sure anglers have valid licences. makes good sense to me - let's face it, if you aren't prepared to buy a rod licence, then perhaps you aren't as responsible an angler as those who do.

Also renewed as normal. Not bothered about 'loosing' a few quid a month. As said, EA still working.

I agree that waters that benefit from license payers money should check anglers have a valid license, and I know of many that already do that.

We should be allowed a free month or 2 from after it expires due to make up from this time when can't go fishing.
