I don't know how things could be any clearer?
You are only allowed to exercise/fish within your own district (government rules). Districts have clearly defined boundaries, they are not a matter of personal opinion. Two minutes using Google and you can find out exactly which district you and your preferred fishery are in.

Spot-on....but we all know there will be those that push the boundaries, just as they would do for anything else because they are either ignorant or stupid, or both....
If i want a couple of hours fishing I am limited to a stretch of the Grand Union Canal and that is literally it....and that resembles milk chocolate after the recent storms and is largely devoid of fish anyway.....

I know, but some people are clearly as thick as mud and can't work it out. Council District. Doh! Just search online with a postcode of a) your home address and b) the post code of the water you want to fish. If they fall within the same Council District, that's local. How hard is that?
Yes, there will be some winners and losers - I have a couple of waters less than 10 minutes drive away, but they are in a different district, yet I can legally fish another that's half an hour away. Just the way the cookie crumbles. Just be grateful you can go FFS.
BTW chaps - two anglers have been fined for breach of lockdown on a water in cambridgeshire that a mate of mine runs... they travelled up from kent to fish it this morning... they would have had a warning and just be told to go home, but one of them got ****ty with the police, hence the fines (well known carp anglers BTW)... it's idiots like that which will see it banned in lockdown.

I've never seen so many anglers desperate to go fishing in the depths of winter. Maybe they like the sound the lead makes when it skims across the ice?

No mate, a Darwen Angler - surrounded with masses of still waters and Rivers, I fish a couple of private beats on the Ribble/Calder, and also the Darwen too - fish them all for Barbel, Pike, Grayling, Chub, Dace, wild Brownies etc.........
I just hope the Trout season does not get screwed up this year again, especially if due to the antics some some selfish, self-centred, me-me-me, Carp Anglers!

I live in a moderate sized town with it's own council, so have have taken it to mean the area covered by my local council to whom I pay my council tax.

Name and Shame... us as Anglers dont no how lucky we have it. But its idiots like these that always want to push the boundaries. We are aloud to fish for f@#ks sake it might only be days and local. Think of the petrol you'd save and nights are **** this time of year anyway.

Had a couple of hours lure fishing this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it I did not see a soul. I'm out again tomorrow afternoon for a few hours feeder fishing on the local river for Bream of all species.
