I got made redundant in 2000 as did many colleagues.
In 2008 many colleagues lost their jobs also.
No problems under a Tory government.

Brexit, the erosion of our rights and decline of services such as NHS, education, and elderly care due to austerity measures, stagnated wages. Just off the top of my head. I am sure there's more.

What happened in 2000? Context needed I suppose, i.e. what industry you were in and how the Govt. of the time contributed to it happening. I knew a lot of people that lost their jobs in 2001 due to the collapse of Enron, but that was entirely detached from UK Politics.
2008 - global financial crisis driven by US Banks and their sub-prime mortgage catastrophe. Gordon Brown actually did a decent job of allowing the Treasury to step in and save both RBS and HBOS; if either of those collapsed then in all likelihood Barclays would have been next and the entire UK Banking sector would have gone with it.
I was personally made redundant in 2011 and 2019, but I don't actually blame the Tories for either of those.
