Thing is he knows you are allowed one hours exircise in the same place and travelling is only for essential's, this is so when we are locked down for months members can't get a refund as he will claim he was open.

If people keep their distance and use common sense, so what?
Fishing can continue, more son on club and syndicate waters, if people use their common sense.

I'm gonna take a different view on this..... ok, the journey may be non essential. However, what's the difference between travelling to a lake in car than travelling to the supermarket for food? Much more likely to encounter covid 19 there than at a syndicate lake. That said one would hope anyone with symptoms wouldn't venture out. People much more likely to go for supplies with symptoms. Fishing might not be exercise, but it is leisure.
May not be the most popular view, but consider this. You don't manage risk by adding more risk. Does someone who goes fishing on a lake with restricted access add more risk to the current situation?

Yes. They travel. Chance of an accident. Possible clogging up of roads. Use of emergency services. Picking up infection from petrol pump etc etc etc etc. Very different to essential shopping for food/survival.

In answer to 335 and 336. Going fishing is not an essential journey. It a selfish and spoiled self indulgence in a time of national emergency that is causing hundreds of deaths and will cause thousands/tens of thousands more. I despair of the nitwits who share our society.

The simplest instruction ever to save lives, stay at home and still people question it. It's pretty easy, the quicker people screw the nut the quicker some semblance of normality will resume.

Waisting your time mate, it would appear some anglers are just as selfish as the greed driven ones keeping venues open.
So how many members does for example RH on each sindycate? And how many swims? Pound to a pinch members outnumber swim by some margin so if all these take him at his word as open and turn up then what happens?

It isn't really as simple as it sounds though is it? After all we are humans, not robots. We aren't meant to be sat in a small box 24/7, especially, in some cases, all alone.
If this goes on for longer than 3 weeks, I can see people becoming very tired of it...

I disagree. It's about reducing contact with people. Anyone, anywhere can have an accident. Risk cannot be eliminated. You reduce it and minimise it. A handful of healthy anglers visiting a limited access lake does not increase risk of transmission to others. It's not a social gathering, which is what the travel restrictions are aimed at.
People going about daily business is a much bigger risk. Anyone going out with symptoms.... now that's irresponsible.
