I understand that, it's just how many of the 10,000 have actually been hospitalised? And how many are just staying home with mild symptoms? I.e Boris. ( Don't actually expect anyone to know this, I'm just thinking out loud).

This is what I was thinking ( I've not watched your link yet chuffy). I believe that covid 19 Has accounted for around 2% of the total deaths in this country since the first cv19 death.

Most people are not tested unless they hospital treatment if this helps.
The NHS stopped testing people in car parks over 2.5 weeks ago.

Don't forget we're about 2 weeks behind somewhere comparable like Italy.
Italy has, as of yesterday 22,407 closed cases of COVID-19.
12,384 recovered/discharged
10,023 dead.
Lots of extra intensive care cases in specific areas clearly.
Without comprehensive testing the real figures are unknown.

We are only at the start of this, it will get worse, we are absolutely heading down the Italy/Spain path. Everybody is fully aware that our NHS is stretched at the best of times, social distancing and I would prefer stronger measures is the best defence we currently have in our armoury.
People spread viruses, and the fact that this one has managed to go worldwide in 2 months in differing climatic conditions tells me that this is a strong, virulent infection.
We have been given the simplest instruction ever to save lives, stay at home and having just read the news that police had to break up a 25 strong karaoke party over the weekend tells me all I need to know about some of the clowns that inhabit this country.

I don't wish to appear rude but..... I watched it up to the point where your man said it may get worse or it may not be as bad as predicted. In other words, he doesn't know. Also that a global lockdown would be disastrous.

Don't believe anything that China says, people I sade are saying the government are allocating thousand of mobile furnaces, each capable of dealing with 30 body's at a time and these people say the death toll is hundreds of thousands and still rising. Unless you are there and protected enough to be able to travel around you will never know the truth.

Should have been incinerators, they use them all over the country to dispose of waste, apparently. Don't remember seeing any when I was there but that was 20 years ago.

Every year the NHS is overwhelmed, or very close to it, with flu, and people using A&E as a drop in centre for every ailment, from a hangnail, to a scratch. Many of these visits should/could be treated at the GP or by our own sense. You have a sniffle, sneeze, a reasonably serious cold, you don't need the doctor, you get paracetamol and STAY at home, if it gets worse then book a GP appointment.
However, businesses have stopped paying sick pay and SSP is not payable until off work for three days.
The call for 250,000 retired NHS staff, that got 400,000 + volunteers, that number of frontline staff should have been still employed by the NHS, instead they kept on accountants and managers. Accountants who refuse to spend a penny unless they can help it, and managers and accountants who draw big wages.
This has lead to a shortage of equipment, no new ventilators, not enough facemasks and demoralised staff.
Suddenly the NHS is having equipment and staff thrown at them.
Now with coronavirus, the MAJORITY of sufferers have no more than a tickly dry cough, or maybe earache or a sore throat. That is it.
It is a tiny percentage who get anything more. You probably know someone who has or has had it.
A tiny minority get something worse, or it exacerbates underlying conditions, the existing recovering heart attack sufferer (as an example), but if the person dies, it is all being placed firmly on the fault of coronavirus by the media. The NHS is duty bound to report that the patient had coronavirus.
If a person has the misfortune to get flu and coronavirus, according to the media, coronavirus caused the death.
Every year worldwide, flu causes between 250,000 and 650,000 deaths on its own, in a season usually from October to March, April or May.
The coronavirus season has also been October to March so far.
Taiwan, right next to China, is not in any state of lockdown, people are living a pretty normal life. The differences, minimal cases, Taiwan stopped all flights in from China immediately. All people self isolate on any symptoms and tested, they then get hospitalised. Any people on flights in are quarantined.

So what are we saying here, most countries in the world are all going about this the wrong way and we should all be following the advice of a small minority of people who have their own alternative views and who's voices seem to be mainly heard through Youtube?
