I have had several sets of 10ft rods including custom built and still maintain that the Ultimate Bionic in 10ft 3.5tc are as good, if not better than any I have owned and the price is a bonus.
Had fish to 47lb on them from both bank and boat.

+1 on the Sonik recon retractables. I've taken mine to france & have started using them more than any of my other rods just because of how convenient they are.
They pack down to the same size as the 10ft retractables, so you won't be sacrificing anything space wise
