I thought with the Google phones you just tell it to take a pic,open your camera and then say hey Google take a picture or hey Google take a selfie

Yes, tried that with no joy, obviously Im doing something wrong, or something needs turning on, activating.

Use camera timer app.

Set it for unlimited photos, take every 3 seconds.

Set it up, press the button and away you go.

Just takes shots every 3 seconds.

Then when your done, you can go through the pics, find the good ones and crop/edit as required.

Very easy.

I use Sensory Voice Selfie app on my Samsung. No bells and whistles but it works for me

I have a routine setup on my S22, which you can run by either pressing a button the screen, or as i do , hold the bixby button on my watch, say "Fish picture",
The routine opens the camera app, sets the flash to auto, and portrait mode, then takes 10 pictures at 2ish second intervals, then opens the gallery so u can check pics and re run the routine again if needed.
Seems to work really well,

In Samsung default app there is a menu in settings for "Shooting Methods". See if Voice commands are enabled and just say "Cheese"

I use sensory voice selfie. U only need to say take my picture and it counts down from 5 and takes a pic. It is really good and free on the app store.
