This is a good pod (and can handle uneven terrain) but it is better for screwing down to stagings etc - the 2+1 ability is also useful . . . .however on balance the Super Compact Adjustable is a better all round product in terms of a 'pod' in its own right (if that makes sense) - why they discontinued it I've no idea - the old Fox Quattro design still rules IMO!

I would send it back and buy the MPS Fantail in the classifieds. I've often looked at buying the Nano as it's a good idea, but you need too many other bits to make it work properly!

For a simple 3 rod pod the Chris Brown/Phil Andrews set up is light.

All ali, no frills pod that does what it supposed to do.

There 'may' be a refurbed one going in the classifieds shortly

Just went to have a look and I can't access the classified yet. I need to be vetted and have at least 100 posts.
Was it the mk1 or mk2?

For me there are way too many fiddly parts to assemble and disassemble with the Nano or other pods of this type. I simply dont understand why no one today really makes a pod that is stable, light and can be assembled in seconds without having to screw small fiddly feet or 6 banksticks on.

The old Solar sod pod is still unbeaten in this respect for me. Way better than anything I have seen on the market today.

Thinking about a custom made titanium pod from Keith from Defiant that is built along his river pod. Should be set up in seconds and should be extremely lightweight.

The X-Type rod pods made from aluminium are very lightweight but are just not versatile enough on steeper slopes or very uneven ground. A pain really under these circumstances.

I don't find my nano fiddly I have put the buzz bars on uprights tighten fully then tighten alien key on base un screw bars leave uprights on base
now every time I use it the buzz bars line up every time
So when set up just put in sleeve screw on 4 legs all done
Also fits like this easy in jag bag fed up with trying to put sticks in ground

I bought a cygnet pod base for £30, small, solid, light and a neat neoprene case.
I then spent about £15 on some cheap 16mm ali sticks of various sizes to cover all options, and they all fit into the case.
Just use your existing buzzer bars...
A light compact quad pod as good as you'll ever need, very stable too.
I added a small loop of paracord for either a bivvy peg or a screw hook for stages.

Still using my JAG Prolite Grey Compact from when they were released. Great pod and nice and compact

Your right about the Sod pod ,I've just bought another,to match my original 2nd version.exterior leg version ,copious amounts of Autosol and its looking smart ..

I don't fish 3 rods on a pod ,only two plus one ,using two sods ,is brilliant ,especially now I've got the 4 inch banksticks for it,low = stable..

I'm for lightness and minimalism,but not in this case ,stainless is heavy ,its what you want ,not,having to worry about anchoring stuff down..

I use a Jag Nano. Love it. Can't see me every changing in got for something else.
Reading through the replies it got me thinking. Am I the only person who never takes my pod to bits? I just throw it on to of the loaded barrrow, job done.

Me to.. it's insane how it basically packs away to a pencil case size

I had the jag rp1 pod.
It was very lightweight and packed away quickly.
I only use small reels but it was a pain to pick up the middle one without hitting the reel on the left.
My biggest gripe was getting it level.
I'm not sure if I have Adhd but my god trying to get it level was virtually impossible, I kid you not one millimeter out and the rod tips were way off line.
I sold it a bought a Solar A1 pod.
It's as light and set up is so easy and my obsessive disorder isn't tested as it levels very easily

How I said I use my nano is using a rucksack I would do the same as you if using a barra leave it set up
