it's the pringles effect - also known as the doritos effect - "once you pop, you can't stop"
it's not necessarily the main food - in pringles / dorito's they're nutritionally sh1te - it's the flavor enhancers in the powders that are added to them that trick you to want to keep eating them - usually in the form of organic salts like MSG, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate (Check the ingredients of your Veccon). Think about how you want to eat again after a huge Chinese takeaway - that's the MSG
there's a fascinating book on how it has affected food & eating habits in humans by Mark Swatzker - https://www.markschatzker.com/doritoeffect-home-page

What Jamie is saying is correct and is also what JB is referring to.
Unami refers to a taste/ sense you have when you eat something. Your taste receptors pick up sweetness, sourness, saltiness, bitterness, and savouriness - Unami refers to the Savoury taste.
Think of the pastry taste in a good sausage roll or a pasty - that moorish taste.
As said MSG is used a lot to replicate it.

If you are using Yeast and vecon I suspect you already have more than enough msg in your mix.

Some decent crushed cat or dog biscuit might solve the biscuit void - they used to work well years ago for many but then the general make up might of changed a bit now....
Alternatively, John Baker published this recipe in a carp mag a good few years ago.....
Meat and Savoury special (10kg)
3kg Meat / Poultry meal
500g cheese powder
500g brewers yeast powder
2kg semo
1.5kg micronised maize meal
1kg full fat HTsoya flour
500g calf milk powder
200g liver powder
100g egg albumen
100g WPC 80
600g Egg food, Red factor e.t.c

If you csn afford it ground up cat treats, such as dreamies are irresistible to cats. Worth adding in a small quantity.
