100% shelf life's are much better than they use too, the point i was trying to make was freezer baits take on ore liquid than shelf life's which gives me more confidence, i still have 5kg of shelf life sitting in my van.

The water used to rehydrate the bait isn't going to top the lake up by an inch, so I'd expect it's OK.

As I said, rehydrating baits in acidic water may be beneficial. It's the contaminants that might be present from the collection process that would worry me.
