I spoke to both Daiwa parts and Felindre last year and both told me they're (Simano in Fs case) not holding parts for as long as they used to regards out of production models. They did say however there's alot of 'cross over ' between older and newer models so always worth asking.

I'm sure the power aero have a known spool clicker problem that happens to alot of them. not a biggie I know but something baring in mind.

That was 1 reason I chose the XR over the 22 power aero...that and the £70 a reel price difference at the time.

I've had both the reels I suggested and suspect you haven't had either for any length of time rendering your opinion worthless.
