WTGE is the standard one. It just stands for their motto... we go to extremes, or something like that. Don't underestimate it, it's warm mate.

Thanks to you both but what a stupid thing to do using wtge as some sellers are advertising torrent wtge and some just say torrent makes it look like there are 2 different models i might have sent mine back thinking it was old model if it wasn't for you guys I know there is the extreme that's very clear

The sj6 and torrent have exactly same warmth rating,you can check it all on Snugpak website

Save some more £ and get a RAB Valiance - Hydrophobic down and Pertex+ shell - so warmer and waterproof; hood is decent as well!

Save up I am an oap not a teenager wish I was LOL I don't want to pay a lot it's only for fishing thanks for recommendation but I had my eye on torrent was just asking for feedback on that

The snugpak is a lot of money for only 10000mm hh. I was looking around for awhile and went for a schoffel smock with 20000mm hh. You'd be better off getting a ridgeline for that money.

20k is overkill for a jacket imo.
No-one walks round 20 metres underwater worried about water seeping through the weave of their jacket. Even 10k is more than needed.

I'd have to disagree. I've got 10k jackets, north face, jack wolfskin and they work...for a bit. There's surely a reason all the good ski jackets etc are 20k+

It just seems silly to me to be taking off a 20k HH jacket to get into my 5k HH Lo Pro to stay dry. Now I agree that you need more in a jacket than a shelter, but if you consider what the hydrostatic head rating actually means, most of it is specs for specs sake imo (for fishing anyway).
I have a Torrent at 10k and a Goretex jobbie which is almost 30k. In terms of performance, there is no difference. They both keep you dry.
Maybe for skiing 20k is the one, but for skiing you end up on your a*se in frozen water several time a day.

Agree HH / breathability rating is nonsense for most carp fishing situations as we are either under a brolly / in a bivvy - unless you are a match angler genuinely sitting out in all weathers for 5hrs you need a balance of waterproofness / warmth dependent on the season.
Whats more key is drying speed and static warmth; the more a jacket can shrug off and the quicker it dries in between the next downpour / the warmer and or cooler the jacket when you are not pumping blood through your veins whilst sitting on your *rse the better . . . .if a jacket does both then that's a perfect balance IMO

The HH comes more into play when leaning, kneeling and sitting for clothing, a lot more pressure is being put on the material - bivvies and shelters shouldnt really need to be as much. But depends where you are
But if its too cold outside for the sweat to evaporate it will condense inside and youll get wet that way.
