Think it's JRC who are relabling CM90 for a re-release.I've been waiting on it,but think I'll try the 8lb in Technium if I can get that sooner.

I love the black Technium and yes it is a little 'wirey' at first (15lb bs), but much like fluorocarbon it soon settles down and gets better the longer it's on the reels. In my experience it stays in great condition for years and years and I only replace it when it gets too low on the spools for the fishing situation.

Edit, I've no experience of fluorocarbon as a main line, never used it or had use for it, only as hooklinks. I've been a 1 line man ever since I've been Carping, thought I'd give the STB a go as it was so highly thought of by so many. The stuff on my reels hasn't seen much use but is 5 years old, but from what your saying it's probably still good.

There's a few on Ebay, Bobco etc, not sure if it's the new stuff though?
Does anyone know if the lettering after it is a identifier for the news stuff?

I've never understood the fuss about Technium black to be honest. The 12lb was a good line if the water had no snags and no weed. The low stretch was good for feeling the lead down but only 0.33 and likely pre stretched at that diameter. The 15lb was wiry to the point it felt like a different line.
Since it went away I would say CM90, Synchro and brown Touchdown all improved on it. They are all also much better in the higher diameters.

The low stretch is difficult to gauge doesn't seem much less when pulling for a break but regards weed & snags its as tough as old boots.
I've used it in 12lb on a snag filled river & the local horrifically weedy canal never let me down.

I definitely disagree with you there. In 12lb it was mega tough.
Anything about 12lb it was a totally different line though. Wirey and didn't bed down well at all

I agree that the 12lb was a decent, tough line for its 0.33 diameter. I personally wouldn't use a 0.33 mono on a weedy water, even a very good one is not strong enough.

im also going to disagree. Ive never needed to use anything stronger than the 12lb (0.33mm), even in the weediest of waters .... Its amazingly strong and abrasion resistant.
Where I do agree though, is the 15lb is just a little to wiry for my liking (fortunately I have never needed to step up to it) and very different to the 12lb and lighter BS

Went into DOM yesterday as they'd had a delivery but it was the old type, .38 instead of .305. It looks like Shimano U.K still have some old stock in their warehouse.

Thanks T, Yes it's Daves, they've got 3 x 3 x 3 square of them, so a fair few spools, probably split 10,12,15, note it is the thicker older type not the new stuff.
Edit, they were on the bottom of a shelf directly in front/opposite the counter as they'd just come in, they said they'd move them to where they go later on

Seems like it has started to arrive in shops now. CarpScene have it as does my local - picked up a spool of 12lb and 15lb this morning.
