Bitter sweet memories of Savay as I was a Ruislip AC member that lost the fishing on there when Tom took it on. That said , I carried on on a day permit for a few years as it was the most beautiful and engaging lake I have fished in 40+ years. Reading both the books I really enjoy his style , he is or was an all round angler not just a carp angler , so has a deeper understanding of the sport. The language is descriptive and as expected avoids the usual rubbish about quick this , little flick that . I pre ordered through Johnson Ross who will notify you of the final book in the trilogy if you subscribe to emails.

I managed to upset him , I wrote a very polite letter to be considered from a day season ticket ( iv had one before) . I followed up with a txt saying I knew the renewals were all done so was there a chance of a ticket . I also said I knew about the HS2 problems with the carpark but I did not intend to use it as I could park up the road on another water I was a member of . Strange character was not happy and phoned me , I was polite , and I'm not sure he knows the score of how carp anglers try and get onto a lake 🤔.
