Different strokes for different folks and all that but you can't say it's poorly designed or cheaply made as there are plenty of very happy customers out there, me being one. I had a Tempest and I really liked it, switched to the Solar about 18 months ago and genuinely prefer it. I find the quality better and I find it quicker and easier to put up and down. It may not suit you which is fair enough but feel you are going a bit strong on those last comments

just because you have trouble erecting yours for some reason ? !!!
you come out with ridicules comments about about seconds poor quality etc truly laughable
when THE TRUTH IS Solar gear is and always will be top quality
and if you have indeed got a faulty one ?
its well guaranteed so just get it exchanged ?
there are far to many people using and loving this excellent shelter
and like me and others have stated its easier and faster than our previous tempests

I didn't say they where and I didn't say I had trouble erecting it the trouble is collapsing it I said I was wondering if they where faulty as quite a lot of people have said there having the same problem collapsing it

Is yours cammo? I saw a cammo one on the bank a few years ago and was really impressed with the quality it looked. Mine isn't cammo, and it all feels, a bit, cheap and chinese. I'll pop it up in the garden later see if the back poles are just me being an idiot. I lost my temper with It yesterday.

I have the green brolly not the camo. The build quality on mine is top notch. The little poles when inserted properly really cause no headaches whatsoever

Video helps a lot. I've never inverted to pack down my old brolly which is probably why I found the small legs a struggle and ended up taking them back out. The video makes it seem nice and easy. Will probably get it out later and sort it out and get the storm poles in too. Nice one

Had one for 18 months or so, never had a problem putting it up or down, and I don't use the brolly pole either. I Never take off the storm poles or the rear ones, don't need to.

Had a go with it. Job done and much easier having watched the video. Wrapped up nice too, still using two straps to get it to pack down tighter but that's no bother.

Glad you found the video helpful you will now find once you have done it a few times you can put it up and down super fast
I mean if I can do it at 77 years old with severe spinal damage ! big smile
and as far as the button goes to collapse for anyone that has a problem
surely to god its common sense ?
to slightly push up to take any pressure off the button press it folds up

As I already said I push the brolly up and the button stays in plastic housing there is no button to push the button not sticking out pushing the button does nothing there's something wrong with it that's common sense

I do agree with the button thing. It's not as pronounced as my old one so it's not as obvious to it being pressed in but it's the slightest of things on a superb bit of kit in other aspects.
In regards to those saying about the storm poles. I've put quick release adaptors on and it's fine, alternatively using ‘O' rings to tighten up would be just as good as you'd only do it once. Cheapest solution as they are few quid for large number of them and the thread size is the same as bite alarms and various other things we use.
