That's exactly the same reason I go, sometimes it's just nice to have a look in person plus it's a decent day out

It's obviously the industry leaders annual opportunity for assessing the consumers gullibility status to further aid potential future capital growth 
I would rather go fishing than attend a show.

Its not for me either but where else do you get to see so many different brands and see their stuff in flesh all under one roof .... I kinda get why people may go for that.
The whole one grown adult hero worshipping/stalking/selfie taking with so called "superstar" anglers though is a more of a mystery to me

I like being able to compare gear 'like for like', and very few tackle shops give you the option to be able to do that anymore. Not many have Fox, Nash, Wychwood, Chub, JRC, Daiwa and ESP/Drennan, most have 2 maybe 3 bivvy manufacturers, same in bedchairs, maybe 3 reel or rod brands, etc.

Never buy any food whilst in The Big One at Farnborough, always go the the TOBY at Frimley just a few mins away for their all you can eat breakfast, sets us up for the day at a fraction of the price of any food in the show.

This is the reason that I always go dressed in full camo to the shows. It's much harder for any of the superstars to have a selfie with me if they can't find me.
