I used to enter the ones via post in all the magazines many years ago won quite a few times I won rods,bivvy,bait and tackle even a pod which I sold on to someone.
Last comp I won was online via total carp which was the Speero luggage range 2 years ago and I even won a match reel out of my brothers match fishing magazine which I gave to him

Years and years ago when I was a sprog in the 1980's, I won 2 Daiwa J1350 reels in a year from Anglers Mail, for a 5lb chub and a 6lb tench which were both reported to them for their fish of the week.
Lovely reels which I used for years for specimen fishing.

I was always dubious about these .
But then I thought why not it's better odds than the lottery .
Only spent a fiver on UK Carp competitions and Sunday I thought I would check the results of the draw .
I nearly fell off my chair as my name said I won the £1500 prize .
Checked my phone and was an email and the prize was paid into my account by 9 pm.
I was well happy as my luck has not been good at all the last few years .
So there you go .

I think scratch cards are quite frequently bought by many 'in the hope'.
That and national lottery seem like a tax on the stupid, something Jim Gibbinson said years ago.
I'm sure people spend more than they actually win.

Someone questioned the 39p ticket price and worked out the sales generated were over £550 for a power bank worth alot less, I commented there was only 1 winner and mark Pitchers blocked me 🤣 truth hurts but they put all these pictures up of people winning and showing off their prizes...its a business amd they wouldn't be doing it if they were losing money

I am surprised there are not more companies offering gambling for tackle to be honest, with so many people prepared to pay it is pure money... People paying 500 quid for items worth 150 etc...

In the beginning all mine were from posting the answers in,I'd buy a book of stamps every month and just fill them in and post them surprising how many times I won really,then it went to a premium rate number then online.

When the prize was paid into my account they hold £150 back and send you a big cheque with your name on and what you won .
All they ask is that you photograph yourself and send it to them as proof you won .
They then deposit the last £150 in your account .
Now obviously even I have said it all sounds very dubious but as I won 1.5 k I'm still a little shocked .
I suppose we are all cautious with these competitions or should I say raffles .
Anyway I have bought some more tickets for 5 of the prizes and see what occurs being I'm well up at the moment .
