Keep your gear tidy, after you use items put them away in the right place.
After the sad news of the death of an angler, wear proper warm clothing, and use a good sleeping bag. Don't be tempted by a bivvy heater.
This week is forecast to be cold, daytime temperatures in East Anglia are expected to be 2 or 3⁰C and dropping to -2 or 3 at night.
Have a good filling, warming meal, breakfast, lunch and a dinner. Don't rely on a Pot Noodle, have proper meals. You need more calories to keep warm in the cold. Porridge for breakfast, a decent soup or tin of pasta and bread for lunch, and a 'showpiece' dinner. For me that is steak, mushrooms, sauté potatoes, and fried onions or a stir fried meat, onions, mushrooms with rice or pasta.
Have things to do, a tablet to watch downloads, or play games on, a good book.
A headlight or two.
I just got back from 4 nights on the bank, so I might just know what I am talking about.
Enjoy your time on the bank.

Keep a mallet handy if you are worried about poachers. Otherwise enjoy the solitude.Don't light the place up and your eyes will adjust to the dark. Unless it's a no moon night and cloudy. Red or green light if you need it to perform essential tasks.

Beats being at home stuck in the flat doesn't it?
I much prefer being outdoors than in, and it's no electricity money, no money going on central heating.
Food costs the same, although I probably drink more coffee than at home.

There was a flag at Glastonbury a few years back... “Purple Aki, The sex pest from the north west.” Just don't use “muscles” as bait... 👀🤣👍
To the O.P. don't worry about it, your venue sounds safe as houses, just go and enjoy it.

I'm a carer for my mom but I have a partner too and i work so me and my brothers split looking after her as she's just had a mini stroke 2 weeks ago but we all need a little break,I spent all last week with her while my brothers went to finish a job they are doing.
And my mom is doing fine she's improving everyday we are just lucky she's at home with her sons to help.
Although I will say it's always just best to have your wits about you I do keep a hammer In My bag at times(this is from fishing town centre stretches)when you get little wannabe knobheads trying to goad you from the opposite side but they won't walk round to confront you it's best to be a little bit aware of your surroundings.

I hope all goes well for you and your family, sounds tough.
I have to keep an ear out for my dad, he has Alzheimers, and still wants to be independent, so my brother and I keep going round, at least once or twice a week..
It's not helped by me having severe back, hip and leg problems and just having to claim ESA and PIP.
If I wasn't fishing I would be trapped pretty much in my flat.

My gear goes away from October to March as I really can't be sat there in the cold and wet the older I've got. However for you younger lads, keep warm, plenty of hot liquids, and maybe take some decent food. The isolation doesn't help when your alone for longer periods of time. I always find listening to a radio station on low provides a bit of company for me and I usually listen to LBC (Leading Britain's Conversation) on DAB which is mostly about politics, but there's all sorts of stations you could listen to. Don't forget to take a power pack for your phone and a wooden stake and a garlic necklace to deal with the problem the fella underneath is talking about.

Thanks mate she's amazing and on the mend slowly at least and hope your dad and yourself are ok under the circumstances, but yes we all need a break from things at times and I'm lucky I've got 2 good brothers and I'm the youngest at 51 where we can share the responsibility ,after all they looked after us all those years ago and we don't want to be one of those families who are selfish seen a lot of that lately.
Back to the night fishing I have had talk sport on for the World Cup while I was out on the bank and like another poster said there's loads of stations to choose from I take 2 radios with me as they last for 24/25 hours each but can only be charged at home so longer times I take a dab battery one as well .
