Hi, can you put this up easier, than the Fox Specialist you had Gerry.

yes correct that was the main reason and the Drennan is much easier and the coverage is soo much better I love it
the other strong contender was the Korum 50inch Graphite Brolly shelter
thats looks brilliant too both much better coverage
the Fox specialist brolly is a quality bit of kit but for ME its just not enough coverage for a bedchair and I had to get rid as my spinal damage prevented me from putting it up and down without a lot of pain

Agree with Gerry the mech takes some force to collapse but does get easier with time / use. . .
Not that I've used it (for sleeping under) but I think it would be fine as a shelter for quick sessions as a wind / driving rain break with a very compact bedchair and waterproof cover. The rear ribs are effectively 'flat back' which is fine for groomed / flat swims but not so good for rivers.
I'm thinking of buying the Drennan 44" for exactly this purpose as sometimes the Fox is a bit too big IMO - only thing I don't like about the Drennan is the flat section across the two central spars (water pooling) rather than a single spar that helps the rain drain off but for days only this is not really an issue . . .

Hi, i'm a old Git, like you say Fox Specialist does take effort to push up/ pull down.
Ones with locking mechanism's i have are easier.
Big head/ boss size not ideal for putting in Roving quivers etc, but prob better to prevent leaks in long run.
Not lightest, so i don't use if going any distance (but i'm old etc).
Its good thou & well made etc.

Ive always considered the flat front section offers slightly better coverage than the single spar ... swings and roundabouts i guess

Just taken delivery of one of these and just to back up what others have said you can 100% get a small bed like an X-lite under one
