I have Wychwood Tactical Compact, JRC Steath X-Lite and a Trakker Superlight bedchairs
JRC is smallest and lightest .... Had for many years .... A bit small/narrow but useable and I like how compact it is to carry. I also really like the locking legs that prevents any type of collapse (i dont know why all bedchairs dont do this)
Wychwood Compact is a nice bedchair .... Perhaps not quite as well built as the JRC but does fold flat with hinges so easier to store sleeping bag. I got caught up with the hype of flat/hinged beds and bought as an upgrade to the JRC. Ive never had any issues with mine
Trakker Superlight is the largest (standard size?), very lightweight considering the size. (it actually feels lighter than the other two to me ... if it isnt, then the difference is negligable). Its also the most comfortable in terms of size and mattress .... It is my favourite of them all and is the easiest to store a sleeping bag. I use all with a SIM

I think that there were two versions of the Wychwood Tactical bed. I had the 1st one, and while very light it was garbage. A sun lounger with a camo trim that sagged in the middle after a few months.
I had a Trakker Big Snooze on there and it weighed a ton, specially in the winter with the thermal cover. Replaced with a non MF Nash 5 season system. Much, much better and weighed less.
I think there is a MK2 Wychwood that has much better support, this must be the one that gets the hood feedback.

Yes there was two the first mattress attached to frame via elastics the newer one is the lumber support method i had one of the later compact versions it was very firm

Isn't just cheaper. I mean what next? No elastic at all?
I say this as years ago I bought a budget prologic wide for the wife when it turned up material in the middle with elastic in the centre. Only perimeter head and foot. Absolutely NO mention
of Lumbar.
Same with the chairs. We used to have elastic all the way round.
Then it was just middle on the seat. Then some stopped elastic completely. No way are they comfortable for a good long sit LOL

I've got the standard (which I've had for a while now) and the compact - both with SIMs and must say (other than minor build issues - I've lost the caps you mention and one of the adjustable legs is stiff and needs force to pull out) they are the most comfortable beds I've slept on bar none . . .far superior in terms of comfort to any previous gash bedchair I've owned (Indulgence Wideboys / SS3/4 etc) let alone Tracker / JRC etc
Suppose it boils down to preference - I hate beds that sag as they give me backache - these are much stiffer and do need a SIM for 'comfort' but in conjunction with a decent bag are a decent choice IMO

Cheers mate. Well I'm going to persevere with it. The only reason I'm.fussy about the enscaps is the bedchair bag would get torn.
Comfort wise I knew it would be very firm . That doesn't bother me as it was bought fof overnighters.
However I may consider a SIM

You dont need to spend ££ on SIMs IMO - I have the recommended ME Helium 3.8 on my compact (as it fits the padded area perfectly) and a cheaper but larger Amazon job (£17) on the standard thats lasted 2 seasons with no probs.
Arguably the standard with the cheaper SIM is the more comfy bed but thats only prob because its wider and longer . .
...I'm tall so always end up with my head right at the top of the bed on the compact. Whatever size you have choose a SIM that fits the width between the perimeter padding to ensure min movement and max comfort - leave both SIM and bag on both beds permanently with zero probs.

Belch can you show.me.again which amazon sim you use please?
I've finally got the replacement endcaps 'plug style'
Going next week so will finally be able to set it all up at home
And stick it in the bag to go.on the barrow. So.might as well
