crap in the wind and they don't control well......

Have just finished the 2nd one, the 1st was screw together type of thing, as said too.......
I bought some conduit from Screwfix, I noticed it was lighter in weight, this means the ID is larger than that of a couple of years ago, if you get 21.5mm overflow pipe it fits in with little amount of play, so now no need to heat and expand any pipes, I couldn't get black overflow so I got white, to be honest its inside the main pipe so its not seen.
I found this thread as I was looking for help with my Tackle Box 18M telescopic pole, when joining one section to the next I give it a little twist to make sure, most times I get it where I want it twist to bait up and the float stays and the poles twist, if I put them together really firm it works,BUT, I can't get them apart, has anyone had this and found a solution, its really pi**ing me off.

We would get the same problem with pvc pressure pipe before glueing. If put together dry then it could be impossible to take apart again.
Have you tried some form of lubricant. Grease or Vaseline might be worth a try.

Thanks for your idea Ian, I will try it on a couple of joints and see if it works, I like the pole but when it gets stuck

Update:
I phoned The Tackle Box this morning, I was
advised to use candle wax but not oil of any kind,
I tried it on a couple of joints and it seemed to work,
one was a bit tight but with the use of a pair of rubber gloves
(to get a better grip) I was able to separate the poles,
the big test will be on the bank.

My mate has made me a push fit one. He's currently trying the one he's made. Anyone else use push fit? Everyone seems to use the locking pins or screw together. He's tried the push fit and says it works well I'm just thinking further down the line. If anyones made a push fit?

The pipe is very bendy, handy when plumbing but can't see it being very good for a baiting pole. Unless they have changed the design since I used it the connectors have a green collet that grips the pipe one way when you push it in. You would have to unscrew each connector to release the collet at each end of every section. Major faff.

He's used 20mm conduit from screwfix 👍 he said it's completely push fit. He used it last night to 25m and said it worked well so 🤞

I've done a 30m baiting pole using conduit from screwfix. It is OK up to 20m with little wind but past that or with any wind its hard to manage. If I'm honest I don't use it much now and if I were going down the baiting pole route in the future I'd buy a Bushwhacker.

would strengthening the conduit with bamboo and expanding foam not help to reach out further?

I've used expanding foam which helps rigidity around the joints. But to be honest most baiting poles aren't great above 20m.
