To be fair mate the fortis bag could do with a better zip or design, it's constantly snagging on my bag.
Apart from that it's a awesome bag and warm for something so light but I rarely zip it all the way up now as I get so hot in it.

Yes mate, i used to have one before the gardner. I thought the delivery driver was having a laugh when dropped the box off as it was bloody massive.

If not using in winter then anything non fleece would be my choice ... Dont get bogged down with bags that have zip in and out layers ... its all a pain in the arse imo .... Straight forward 4 season bag with a cover. If you can find an Aqua Sleep System bag then that is perfect (i liked it so much i bought 2 more as spares) .... Having said that if i needed a new bag i would try the Fortis Techlite (i know, i know, it has layers) or Gardner Carp Duvet
I have the Wychwood Morpheus bags purchased a second 7 although I predominantly use the 4 I sold the spare 7 on. Sadly these aren't available anymore and of in the market I'd look at the Gardner.

Good choices. I think my ideal bag would be a narrower version of the old Sundridge Heat Control, about 850 wide with a sewn in inner leaf and top notch filling to keep the weight and bulk down.

been carp fishing since 1962 in that time I have owned and used most of all the popular sleeping bags
I now use a Fortis bag and a Gardner bedchair cover this combination covers every possible weather / Temp I will ever encounter in the UK or Europe
oh and I never zip my bag up as I suffer from claustrophobia

Tennier Industries ECWCS modular is worth a gander.
Snugpak will put crash zips on their bags if you ask before ordering.

The Fortis / Gardner combo is what I use and it ticks every box for me too. Light, warm and flexible with the removable layer, or even just using the cover.
