How old is she? 8? what opportunities does an 8 year old really need in fishing? And as others have alluded to, why do you think she might get free stuff?? You also cant compare angling with competitive sports, because simply it isnt a competition

If it was just to share and document your child's live of fishing , why spam it to every page and group . There is no harm in it , and other than the early ones where it looked fun as she hung on , now I don't bother to look at link and videos as it looks to "set up" rather than just having a phone handy . Like all free videos , the choice is your 👍

Each to their own, but if any or all of my daughters enjoyed fishing (i have 3 and they dont lol) I'd be more inclined to enjoy the time spent together rather then filming it and plastering it on social media. As already pointed out, some free PVA and a hoody isn't worth it. I'd rather enjoy the special time with my kid without all the social media and 'sponsorship' BS.

I do agree in a way, although I do have pictures of my children fishing. My youngest daughter and son with their first fish, him with big chub and perch and my eldest daughter throwing lures out with a spinning rod and multiplier, her first 20lb carp.
I think that we have the social media culture, everything we do has to go on Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok etc, and that is the norm.
Yes there is the pride, but we have also forgotten personal privacy, everything we do is easily available.

I've met Sophie and her dad and she seems a very pleasant and polite young lady.
Personally I don't like the whole coming up with 'Sophie the carp catching kid' thing and setting out to make her a fishing celebrity. Just doesn't sit well.

Also what happened to starting out fishing for silver, trotting a float etc, and the other thing that concerns me a tad is the pics you see of these young kids holding 20lb plus carp (well any carp really), if it throws a fit fit no way she's keeping hold of it.

Bit of a puppet in my opinion if you want to take your children fishing fantastic and record their experience great but not something i would do to make it public shear it with friends and family on Facebook but that's as far as I would want it to go.

My eldest son now 41 and grandson aged 12 eat sleep and breath fishing/angling, carp, pike, fly, sea, river, canal, you name it they do it. My grandson is pretty damn good but you won't see him on any magic tele, they do it for their own pleasure.

she obviously likes fishing but definitely has the vibe of a pushy parenting,like he's trying to get her signed up by company's etc
