yes I would say the roasting rack is essential if its not included ? go outdoors 14 quid
Things that will take longer need to be lifted off the direct heat. The Cobb Roasting Rack makes it like an Oven, so you can use any oven-proof dish that fits under the Lid. (they would wobble on the Grill Plate, because of the slight dome). The Rack is intended to be used with the Grill Plate.
the extension ring it comes with a stand for the chicken to cook on is very handy
I have bought every thing over the time I have had it the ONLY thing I would not buy is the BBQ kit for the Air heard of far too many Airs overheating with it and melting the top rings ...........OK on normal Cobb though

there is a great buy in classifieds
Also
I got this reply when I asked about the Cobb Kettles
Cobb stopped making the kettle about 3 years ago . The stock you see around the world is New old Stock
it is also possible to use some sizes of Kelly or Ghiliiie kettles that will work in the same way you just need to mod their base by cutting a hole in it apparently

Great info, thanks 🙌🏼

Just about to order a Cobb premier Air myself, really looking forward to some proper bankside nosh this summer. There's some great tips in this thread so thank you, I can also vouch for the Big K restaurant grade briquettes (rcb10) I use them in my drum smoker, bit of a pita to light but once going they last forever. I'm curious, has anyone tried using some small wood chunks on them like a mini smoker?
I'm also going to order a better bag for mine, give 'Suffolk Carping Accessories' a look, it's a fantastic bit of kit their bag 👌

Yes, I've hot smoked whole trout, whole chicken, pork shoulder and beef brisket on the bank. I use the restaurant charcoal and make a pouch with tinfoil for the damp smoking chips. Well worth investing in a digital thermometer with 2 probes for smoking /roasting larger cuts of meat. One probe in the meat the other for the temperature under the lid.
The height extension ring is handy for larger cuts.
