The last time I went, I seem to remember they had some goodish deals on the website that you booked on. There was about half a dozen deals of various different things, you paid up front along with your ticket price and picked it up at the show. My lad got an AVID sleeping bag, was handed to him personally be Ian Russell !! Can't remember how much I paid for it though. The one before that we got some Fox N bite alarms, think they were about £30 apiece. Got them from Eric's or Vale Royal's stand, can't remember which. But like I said in my last post, haven't been for ages. But I think I've read on here somewhere they have some decent bait deals on, and you may get some last minute deals on the Sunday.

They appear to have done 2 releases of tickets. I bought mine in the first release on the day they went on sale for £11.55 each including admin fee. They now appear to have gone upto £15.00. obviously making the most of the demand !

There's definitely deals to be had on tackle and bait. But for me it's not all about money saving, I like being able to see stuff in the flesh. Not even the biggest tackle shops can carry the entire range from all the manufacturers. If for instance you wanted a bedchair, you could try practically every one available and get one you are 100% happy with. Or you could order one online, not really like it and end up buying something else and that's gonna cost you a lot more than the fifteen quid entry fee.
Baits another thing. You can't pick up the stuff and break a bag open in a tackle shop or online. If you are considering changing baits then a lot of them are available to crumble up and sniff.
I've been lucky enough to work at the last two. But I'd pay to get into the NAS if I had to, cos I think it's an enjoyable couple of days, and I've never even seen any of the talks.

Agreed. The chance to just walk around for the day looking at new tackle set up is a good experience in itself. I don't normally stick around and listen to the chats but I'm going to give them ago this year.

Hit the nail on the head for me as to why I go to them when i can.... for big item stuff its the best place to go and compare stuff. I just hope all the big companies return with big enough stands to show there full ranges.
I'd be surprised if the likes of CC Moore and DNA haven't felt the financial impact of not having one recently given how much they used to sell over the two days at the NAS alone.

I can't remember now at which show it was, but Solar had to send someone back to the factory for more stock by Sat lunchtime at one of the shows or they'd have had nothing left to sell on the Sunday. They were doing good deals and I think even they were surprised just how many people took advantage of it.
The amount of bait that sticky sold at the last big one was absolutely staggering. Literally a lorry load. I can't remember the exact figure that they told us now but it was something bonkers like over thirty tonnes in two days.

I used to enjoy attending 5lakes more for the 'try before u buy' thing than anything else. However like a lot of things,I think it too became a victim of the Internet with proper deals becoming harder to find and stands less willing to haggle, even a fraction. Think my last was the penultimate one,and could see the beginning of the end. Attended one Midlands show at the Ricoh stadium and that was shockingly bad . Tempted to give the Big One a go though.....
