I have experienced the things you mentioned ca rucksacks are terrible for comfort had two
and had three pieces of Aqua luggage zip pullers came off and the most disappointing thing they take no notice of feedback and don't make any changes

We have two NGT mats with sides,permanently set up on the lake we fish ,they are not covered up,just stacked upside down.

They've been out for over two years in wind,rain,snow ,ice the recent heatwave ,they are still fine and not damaged,ripped or torn ..

Saves us carrying another item from home.. we also have two NGT landing net heads,42inch,also outside 24/7...only just replaced the mesh..

A lot of tackle today is overpriced,but like anything ,it's how you use,can and store the kit..

Would we buy more NGT,..yes,why not..!!

Can you let me know what the SK-TEK one is like. I've had my eye on that one too. What's the maximum weight of carp you think it would take?

Ideally I would like a unhooking mat that doubles up as a weighing sling. I saw someone weighing a carp recently in a unhooking mat with sides and a zipped up top like the sonik sk-tek cradle and korda basix cradle. Is that a safe thing to do or do I need more of a unhooking mat and sling combo?

The korda basix mat looks very good and they are doing a sling that fits inside it when packed up.If you go onto HF Angling Facebook page Jon has done a video and it looks well thought out and packs up quite compact
