Most orgs would just carry on as normal. And especially in this scenario where Ali is going off to do his own thing in the same industry. All it would do is give him more advertising, raise more awareness to his new brand and add to the PR like this Carpology interview was aimed to do.

What do people make of Tom Dove being made a director 2 weeks ago, just days after Ali left? I thought that was odd. Maybe trying to ensure he didn't do the same thing? Bit of a kick in the balls to ali if that's the case.

Well if the other rumours are true that the real reason Ali left was due to a fall out because Danny and Damian wouldn't give him a Directorship then giving Tom the same is a proper two fingers....
To be honest there's only 2 reasons that you would leave a job like that if you are Ali Hamidi.....ambition or greed..

The timing is somewhat interesting. Definitely has something to do with recent news re: Ali. He likely warrants it being head of PD and must have brought a lot to the table to get a directorship.

I think that he wanted equity in the business rather than “just” a title.
Good luck to him but I'm not sure that he will make as much as he did at Korda and it will be a lot more work than being paid to make tv shows all over the world!

Ali is very close with Tom Dove. Imo that's why he got the directorship - to stop him joining Ali.
But if they'd made Ali a director in the first place he'd likely have not left.

you only need one Director for an LTD company set up (100%) shares or as many directors as you with with varying splits on Share holdings.
you can also have Non Director share holdings

Correct, being a director is just another job title. It's ownership of the business where the power lies.
Not that I'm particularly fussed with the Korda stuff. Good luck to them all!

I mean that the setup specific to Korda requires a set number of directors. It's quite common for businesses of a certain size to maintain a set number of directors, not to comply with any external regulation, but for their own business reasons.

No he didn't but a company as Korda gets a lot of value of of multimedia and media attention. Ali and the gang seem to be close with each other. If you can thank Ali for all the effort he put in Korda, you loose your face Korda being.
