That's what I suggested on their insta post, it's why you have to be careful with everything you use in videos they either didn't check properly or thought artists would be happy with them using their music and just getting the ad revenue?? £5000 a year is steep for one song but they didn't do their homework but again it would be very simple to remove the music

I've been following this to. I don't know what's involved in producing video content but wonder how easy it easy to remove said audio tracks so they're not in breach of anything relating to paid rights to music.

People need to read the post before commenting.
They had an agreement with a music label that they could use the music and the label profited from the ad revenue in return. Those t&c's have now been changed.

It will affect their back catalogue, unless they want to go back and edit those videos.
Plenty of vendors that offer royalty free music subscriptions with huge libraries, they can sign up to one of those easily enough.

Can't stand it I fast forward through sections with it, same as adverts on T.V. If it's unavoidable I'll just watch something else. I really find it annoying. I should learn to be more tolerant I know.

. . .simple business. Start off down one route - get successful - suppliers change contracts to cash in.
Adapt and survive - tweak the model slightly (in this instance find another source of music / royalty free / do another deal) . .job done.

With their ages, Carl and Alex could approach and tap into the local schools/colleges for students to offer there music abilities for future references and a few quid in ad revenue.
