Done a great line in rods a few back. Free spirit blanks, I have a set. Think Simeon bond who owns Free spirit had an interest in TFG. Fishtec was I think the online store they sold them through and a few selected outlets. Every magazine you used to pick up at one point had a Fishtec brochure. Wasnt Matt Hayes involved at one point aswell?

There were a few X rods, original x, x2, x3, and maybe others.
Is there any definitive way to know which are free spirit blanks.
I have the X with the "braid friendly" ceramic tip eye that i believe to be a free spirit blank.
Its marked up as 2.75 but its like a fast actioned 3.5lb rod but very slim.

I had the tfg x series about 15 years back. and also the freespirit xs
for what it's worth not the same blank, look different and feel very different too. at the time I drilled into that info and
found that Simeon stated that they were definitely not the same blank.
great nice-looking rods for the money. if you waited around for deals Fishtec were mega. I got two xseries for 99 quid and a year later the third rod for 30 odd quid.
Same with my Biomaster 8000xta. with 25 quid off deals and 25% extra off etc . i was picking them up for less than 50 quid a reel.
for what it's worth not the same blank, look different and feel very different too. at the time I drilled into that info and

TFG TREMOR!!! Fantastic rods, legend had it they were on a f.s blank. Who knows, a lovely rod whatever. The rest of their gear was dog pooh tbf. Thank for no memories TFG!!!

The Tremors came after the x series I believe
And by that point the FS link had been long debunked re the x series. However. I seem to remember the Tremors were sold.as a higher spec rod.

The tremors were 40 t carbon the x series were 36t the tremors were made in Korea and the x series China ....neither were built on actual fs blanks though I have this on good authority after asking simeon himself given all the diff conflicting info online I messaged him and he got back to me explaining everything about the rods I personally own a set of tremors in 3.5 and I wouldn't sell them for the world l they are mega rods and high modules' carbon given they are 40t

Fishtec (inc TFG) was the retail arm of Airflo ; a fly fishing line and tackle manufacturer.
