Slight change of subject: how do the infinity's compare to Century C2 Masters?
I'm looking to invest soon but keep toying between these two, C2 & Infinity's, but with the stores currently closed and no shows I'm unable to see them in person

The c2s are an all round rod, prob best there is or close, costs around 500 and the infinity are a fast taper casting rod mate. Costs a lot less
Iv owned infinities and they're great rods, if U like stiff rods, but way over priced imo, big mark Up, poor fittings, get more with other brands.
Alternatives to a infinity 3.75 would be the new - C2 SP, treb light, etc
Alternatives to the C2 master would be - hi s, aviator/torrix etc

Hi mate have been using the 12 ft infinity x rods for the last 22 years time for an upgrade. What I loved about the infinity x was how light they felt and having repeated casts was a breeze. Supposed to be a fast tapered broom handle in there day at 2.75lb test curve, but now look at the test curves available. Anyway question is how do the newer x45 infinity's and basia's compare to the old infinity x for lightness and casting potential.
I am looking to replace the old infinity x with a casting rod but also one that is not impossible to compress properly.
Can't make my mind up between the basia and the infinity x45 in 3,75 test curve, and have convinced myself a stiffer rod would be better in 13ft any advice you can give cheers

Hi mate are you saying the infinity's compare to the treb lights money wise or the stiffness and casting potential.
I would have guessed the trebs would be a stiffer blank and harder to compress. Although I think they are a fantastic looking rod

I've got the 12' infinity x45 in 33/4, IMHO, they are the best rods that I have handled, very light, responsive and are a dream to play fish on, I had the treb lights and in comparison they are broomsticks, I've got a set of the 13's for distance fishing but because of lockdown, haven't used them as yet, I've had them on a field and they feel just as responsive as the 12's, once I've had proper use with them i'll Come back and let you know..

Theres no way a 3.75 infinity is a dream to play fish on. I watched danny fairbrass land a 50lb carp in one of the thinking tackle episodes and only the top 12” of the rod were bent, thats definitely not a rod thats even remotely nice to play fish on.

I thought that, i haven't used them for fishing but have had a cast with one.
I had the original infinities in 2 3/4 which i thought were quite good for playing fish on and then had the original 3.5's i didn't particularly like them for playing fish on a bit to tippy for me

If going for the 3.75tc I would definitely go 13ft,as I've said infinity is still one of favourite rods for fishing at range. The choice between these and basia rods is purely personal taste as I don't think there is much if any difference in performance but I do like the grey finish and subtle screen print finish of the basia but there used to be a big difference in price and again personally I don't think it was justified. If I were fishing a large venue and often casting over a hundred yards I would go 13ft 3.75tc infinity x45 with lite weight reels like basia, ci4 1400 ultegra, tech mags or power aero for a lite weight balanced settup. The only other rod I would consider is the 13ft treb lite but this is a heavier blank and most stock it with kigan 50mm ringing and I would prefer to go custom build with k series titanium guides in 40mm advanced pattern but this works out expensive and would be a gamble as I've never tried this configuration so would probably stick to the infinity unless money was no object as I know that combo works for me.

I've not had a problem with them at all, you know that the tip does the work - just let it do it and if you need some ooomph to stop a fish getting into a snag or heading off down a channel then there's more than enough power to stop them... I'm 6' tall and the rod fits perfectly into my armpit and casts further than I've ever been able to cast previously, that is more than enough for me but opinions on rods and reels are like ********s really, everyone's got one...

The daiwa infinity blank is very light, because it's design is a thin walled rod, this makes it slightly thicker in the hand (for strength needed) then others but obv way lighter then similar rods.

💯 any casting fast taper rod is way better in 13 ft
Look at the 12ftmcentury's, 12 ft his I've etc not gd all rmd blanks

What you guys gotta remember is if your level line casting no leader can you get the power outta the butt with normal line? If you buy a 3.75 rod and need a 4/4.5 to compress it you need lines of .36 plus or more which is going to cut u down
Cast further with a aviator or whatever, 3/3.5 ounce and lighter line straight through.

I have got a set of 3.25 Basia rods and I love them, I had so me Longbows before and I thought they where superb and still do, these 3.25 are fishing rods, cast great, accurate and superb playing fish on, for me they tick all the boxes I want out of a rod

I have had both infinities and now the basia rods. The change for me was purely cosmetic as wanted cork handles and basia rods sounded nice with my basiairs. Both sets were 3.25tc
For me not much in it, basia rods little bit lighter nothing worth noting feels slightly softer on the tip playing fish but that could just be my imagination. Either way excellent rod and ticks all the boxes for me (as did the infinities).
One thing I can say is I have had a top section snap on me on 1 x basia rod which never happened to any other daiwa rod I have owned. Wasn't even under much force chucking it 130y clean snap with no damage to the section prior casting the eye could see. Cost me £220 for new top section
Apart from that love them and don't see any reason to change them for anything else on the market.
