I'm certain that they could go a lot higher, £2/3/4K just isn't a lot of money for some people. As the hobby expands more of these people take it up and there becomes a market for exclusive and expensive equipment. It doesn't matter if it's any better or worse than the cheaper stuff, people will buy it if they can afford to.

I suspect Trakker are just chancing their arm one final time. They were stupid to allow their tie in with Korda to end. What's the phrase about keeping your friends close but your enemies closer? Whilst they had close links to Korda to some extent they were protected from the juggernaut. But now they are very firmly in their headlights. It's started with Korda eating into their luggage market share. Pretty soon round two will appear, unhooking mats, slings etc. Once Korda release their bivvy, Trakker/Aqua are ****ed. Ridgemonkey have been very clever in marketing their shelters at long stay euro anglers and not getting into a scrap with the over nighter/tempest market share.
My guess is you won't see Aqua as a brand within two years and unless Trakker have a serious rethink they won't be fair behind them. Korda is a monster with big feet and they are slowly going to tread on a lot of the competition. Diawa, mainline and Delkim are probably safe. Everyone else is in their sights I reckon. Beds, bivvys, sleeping bags, luggage, barrows, landing nets, bivvys etc etc.
Just like nash, Korda is gonna be a one stop shop.

Yep. I have no doubt.
I read the strategic reports section of their company accounts each year, including the bit about research and development. The latest 2019 filing details their intention to move into other product lines, particularly electronic and the associated issues with water ingress and circuit boards. So basically digital scales and probably alarms.

You may as well give me the £1500 quid, i'll do more with it than Trakker will. Judging by the quality of their bedchairs lately, they will fade into insignificance within the next ten years unless they either A) go back to producing quality union jack products again (people will buy it) or they come up with some innovative ideas and sort out their non existant marketing. Unless you have a huge interactive instagram and youtube presence, you will struggle.
Sadly, the same goes with Aqua. There is a reason why people are buying the old Manifold gear for loads more than it's mark up price...

Ridgemonkey may have been clever about their marketing, but they are marketing it to bods on insta who go to Elphicks for the weekend. They need to crack the European market which I believe is under the grips of Nash and Fox.
As for Korda breaking into the luggage market, I've heard a few whispers of discontent about fitting big pit reels into the rod holdalls. That's neither here nor there, but Korda 'innovations' will probably have to pull out some special items with actual innovation rather than try to muscle in on an already massive luggage market. We have the luxury of forums now, so it won't take much for them to be outed if they bring out a rod bag which is no better than a Saber but is being touted for double the price. It'll be like Merecedes trying to bring out their own range of tyres (to be a "one stop shop" as you say) when you know full well they'll never compete with establish brands like Michelin, Pirelli etc.
As for who is safe, Daiwa is a global brand. They could stop selling luggage, bedchairs, bankware and just knock out some new rods and reels and they'll still be fine. Delkims will be safe as long as Prologic/Sonik keep knocking out cheap sets of 3 + receiver that break after twelve months. Nothing will come close to Delkim/Fox/Nev/Gardner for alarms.

Off topic, but I've got the three rod Korda rod bag, it takes my century rods 50mm rings and entohs without any issues. I've also got two single sleeves for spod and marker. Again both with 50mm ringing and big pits. No issues with fit there either.
